Really good stay at a lovely hotel. Room was lovely but up a lot of steps and could have been nicer if it had a balcony or terrace. Small pool area for non-divers with a salt water pool but never really got busy. It is uphill from the town (quite steep) but the shuttle bus runs regularly (snd can be on demand for a small cost) and the hotel will also pick you up and drop you off from the ferry. Breakfast was good. I was there for the diving and the dive centre is AMAZING (see separate review).
Would definitely stay again in a heartbeat.

Review for the Diving Course
I spent four days at the hotel, and my boyfriend and I decided to do the PADI Open Water scuba diving course. The course here is a bit more expensive than others on the island, but the price is justified by the attention and quality of the lessons.
Jhonatan is the owner and a very funny and friendly person. We really liked the way he introduced us to the course and explained the different options available.
However, for the price, we expected a few more things to be included, such as the boat (which was borrowed from other schools) and more wetsuit options. There was only one short-sleeved wetsuit available, and on the first day we got sunburned, while other schools offer more wetsuits, including long-sleeved options.
In our case, the absolute best part was the experience we had with Delia, our scuba dive master. She was more than perfect.
If you want to truly learn and discover diving, Delia is the best instructor you could have. She is talented, always caring, and constantly checking on how we felt. Scuba diving is something that must be taken very seriously, and Delia was extremely professional in teaching us, while also being attentive to our emotions and comfort throughout the entire process. Diving with her was incredible! She speaks perfect English, German and for the Italians she can also understand perfectly and speak so you can feel even more confortable
I highly recommend that if you stay at the hotel, you take the course with her — it will be the best experience you can have. If I decide to take the Advanced course, I would definitely come back here to do it with her!
FOR THE HOTEL
It’s a real luxury experience; the staff is super super kind, everybody, very attentive.
They have a service to go to the rooms by car and to the center. Btw you can go walking is a a good walk to the center. You have a 7/11 just going down the street 800mt. The rooms are stunning the view amazing. Strange the bathroom transparent but it’s ok. Real luxury experience. The breakfast is also very good
5 stars experience on every side

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Absolutely Worth It!
Had a wonderful stay at Tarna Resort. The property is truly beautiful—very neat, clean, and well maintained. You can feel the care and effort the moment you arrive.
What really makes the place special is the people. The team is warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, which makes the whole experience even better.
Peaceful vibes, great service, and a lovely property overall. Definitely a worth-it place, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting. 🌿✨

Beautiful views but watch out for the stairs and mosquitoes
Review:
This hotel is definitely one of the most beautiful in the area. It’s relatively clean, and the breakfast was good and satisfying.
However, there are two main things you should consider before booking:
1. Accessibility: There are many stairs within the hotel, and the walk up to the property is extremely steep. Keep this in mind if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues.
2. Mosquitoes: I had a very difficult experience with mosquitoes in my room. I was bitten so badly that I suffered a severe allergic reaction. When I asked the staff for help, they only offered a spray, but I’m not sure they even used it because I continued to get bitten throughout the night.
In short, it’s a nice hotel that meets basic needs, but the mosquito issue really overshadowed my stay and affected the rest of my trip.

The room is good but a little bit too small comparing to the price. View outside is stunning. It's good for couple rather than family trip due to the design of bathroom. Cleanliness of the hotel is quite not well. A lot of dust. The food is not surprised, not bad not good. The staffs are kind and well trained.

Booked 3 nights here and ended up staying for 9.
Would have stayed longer but reception could not give us same rate for extra days and simply didn't care if we left or not, so we moved hotel and will spend our hotel, tips and dinner budget elsewhere. Reception staff are the only thing that disappoints me about this hotel. One guy spent about 10 minutes seeming aimlessly staring at his computer until I asked him if there was a problem and asked him to turn the screen so I could see... Then funnily enough he managed to immediately fix whatever he was doing.
We were accidently drinking the bottled water from the fridge thinking that was the free stuff, turns out its the glass bottles that are free in the rooms. This resulted in us not touching the glass bottles and accidently spending more than 200 baht in bottled water in error. Reception did not care as this was our mistake... Which is fair enough, but that 200 baht could have been a good gesture to entice us to come back another time.
We ate 4 times on the Japanese rooftop restaurant, which has lovely views. The curry's were amazing. Our avg spend there was about 1200 baht for 2 people.
Tee was an amazing employee. He floats about making sure you feel welcome and could not do enough for us. Tee is a credit to the hotel. Maybe place him at reception haha for direct customer engagement by reception is very, very poor.
I spent 10,000 baht doing the Padi openwater beginners course, which was amazing. The hotel has the best pool for confined dives, professional instructor and lots of good equipment including their own boat. I highly recommend doing your dive course here.
There is a family run shop directly across the street for your water at 20baht. The lady just had a baby so we enjoyed being able to help them out a bit. We got our laundry done there and bought our water. Very pleasant.
I rented a scooter for 150 baht per day and 5k deposit from the lucky hotel about 100metres walk down the street on right hand side. All painted in green. Very honest and professional. No problems.
Have a great stay 😊
