Thipwimarn Resort in Koh Tao Island

They have yhe worst hotel menager you can imagine. Arrogant and rude. I have never experienced a hotel staff shauting at us, argue with us and not even letting us finish the sentences(!). The "prepared" rooms were dusted and dirty, floor or the bathroom was just wettened and left like this as 'being cleaned'... Many of the rooms had not working AC which 'happened just today'. The location is beautiful and the view is nice which is why I give it 2 stars. It's far from the city, the manager is not taking care of the property and it is just not maintained well. I don't know how come this 'resort' has 4 stars, but it definitely do not meet the standards of the 4-star resort.

Looking at reviews, I thought it was going to be a great experience. NOT!

Expect long walks to your room by stairs, many mosquitos goes in from the cracks of your doors and windows (got at least more than 5 bites on my legs) so noisy due to animals (climbs on your hut roofs) and bugs, AC leaks water to the floors, tv is cheap, creepy crawly bugs, shower has no hot water.

Since there are no phone connection (told us theres no connection for all rooms?) we had to walk up the stairs to talk to them. We asked politely for hot water and if they can do anything about it. They told us to upgrade instead. The manager at the front desk was rude to us and didn't help us when we asked if there was hot water. Instead he gave us attitude saying it was the agency fault for not putting it in and told us to stop complainig? He walked away to his computer and ignored us after! On the site it said nothing about having no hot water!

The downfall is that its far from everything as well, so be ready to pay more for transportation. Make matters worst, wifi connection is 2 bars less. It disconnects many times. Because its a dead season (June) is what they said, their restaurant isn't open. So at night time we had difficulty finding a place to eat since we are far from everywhere.

Very old resort. Air conditioners have problems. Rooms have mold and smells. Breakfast is very weak. Only good thing iş about they have really nice pool view.

We stayed in the superior room.

The room and resort were nice overall but many improvements could be made.
The rooms require more lighting, there was no hot water, the trees around the pool need trimming since they cover it with leaves and the room has a big pricing list that made us worried to use anything provided.

Gaps in the walls and doors meant that there were a few bugs but mosquitoes weren't a problem.

The air conditioning was rather inconsistent which meant that sometimes we would wake up rather hot.

We were told that the WiFi is subscription based but found out that the WiFi passcode on the sign at reception worked for the room.

Good points:
Not too far from the end of the beach.
Nice bed, working fridge and good views from the room.
Convenience store, taxi and laundry services nearby.
Very nice staff, the receptionist is very friendly and helpful.
Pickup and drop off from pier for check-in and check-out.
Good breakfast.
Good room cleaning.

FALSE advertising, in many points:
- The private beach was so polluted you couldn't go on the sand or on the lawn around (stacks of plastic wastes)
- The view you can see on pictures from rooms is no longer available (the receptionist laught at us when I showed him the picture, he said this photo was taken 10 years ago)
- The breakfast was made with stuff on which the expiry dates was almost a year before
- The room stank the humidity so much we couldn't stay in more than 2 minutes and asked to change immediately (but the smell wasn't the only thing to say). We got a way smaller room, and they refused to refund the difference.

Simply put, the resort is abandoned. We changed place after one day (on a 3 days reservation) but they refused to refund us. At the same price, the other location was 100x better.

The manager was extremely unfriendly and arrogant. He failed to tell us basic information and didn't seem to care about the hotel or his guests.
It is impossible to shower under hot water, despite the fact that we paid for a room which was suppose to have it.
The breakfast included one toast per person which was clearly not enough.
All in all, the fact that we were the only guests even though it was in the high season gave us the impression that the hotel is past their good days.
