Lovely 5 night stay in this hotel, although we'd rate it more 4 star than the 5 advertised. Great clean rooms but lacking enough tea (no English breakfast tea) and coffee in the room. Bring your own if you're staying here or go to the 7/11. Surely 5 star would supply enough? The cost of the drinks is a problem if you're looking at Thailand prices for comparison. Every drink is charged a 10% service charge plus vat on top so we made a point of going out in the evenings. We missed the fact that it's a VERY steep hill into and back from the seafront area. We like walking but even we struggled with this. The courtesy bus is a godsend but we came to refer to it as the "old bone shaker"!! The staff were brilliant and friendly and the Top of the Reef restaurant was exceptional. We'll worth a visit for a special occasion meal. The hotel beach is stunning and one of the best and cleanest we've ever been to and would possibly return for this alone. Again, though, the Bamboo Bar is run by the hotel so do watch the prices!! The hotel is just lacking those final touches for what should be expected from a 5 star hotel. Having said that, we had a lovely stay and had some great experiences whilst there so would say it's worth a visit.

In March 2025, 50 of our closest family and friends watched us get married at the Cape Panwa Hotel - and we had the time of our lives. We chose this resort because it combines luxury with that authentically Thai down-to-earth vibe. If you prefer western, modern and sleek it’s not for you but we loved the fact that it was rustic and charming. The food, drinks and views were absolutely amazing on the day. Big thank you to Aom, the venue coordinator, and her assistant for helping to make the day run so smoothly. We booked the panwa lodge for the bridal party accommodation and it was beautiful. Others stayed in the 2 bed villas and standard rooms and no one had a single complaint (or if they did they didn’t tell me). Breakfast was great and the staff were lovely and so accommodating. Cape Panwa will always hold a special place in our hearts and we can’t wait to come back. PS - if you’re thinking of getting married here, look up the port schedules on the dates you’re considering. We were so happy we did because we avoided days when big cruise ships would be docking - that happens frequently and can spoil the horizon view.

Loved our break here! Especially loved our 2 bed villa with private pool, for a chill during the morning and into the afternoon. The lady looking after our room did a great job of keeping it clean and fresh. She was also great fun and generally lovely. Awesome at folding our towel into an Elephant! :-)

After breakfast (we did B&B, which I’d recommend) and some morning pool time, we’d head down to the private beach with a short trip in the cable car (literally 2 mins) to hang out in the afternoon and enjoy the amazing views. Whilst there, we’d grab some good food and enjoy a bucket of cold beer or some cocktails in the Bamboo Beach Bar, where the lovely Sandy, Hazel and team looked after us with their great service and constant smiles. In the evening, the Panwa House restaurant on the beach is lovely and a must do to treat yourself. You can also watch the EPL footie in the Lighthouse Bar if wanting to keep up with your team. We unfortunately didn’t get to try the Italian restaurant that was on site.

All in all a great, chill, fun break. We stayed 3 night as we were moving around Phuket, but really needed a few more - next time!

Thank you for your great hospitality team Cape Panwa. Hopefully see you again soon :-)

I stayed here with my friends, looking for a place to relax. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of Western and Thai dishes, plus a few Chinese options. Thai dishes like Tom Yum noodles, wonton noodles, and barbecue pork rice were freshly prepared right in front of us, and the menu changed daily. Everything was delicious, and the staff were always polite and attentive.

The only downside was that our room had a strong musty smell. It didn’t come from the linens, curtains, or towels, but seemed to be in the room itself (possibly from behind the furniture, the walls, the air conditioning, or under the mattress). Our room was in the newer U Wing building with a mountain view, facing north, so perhaps the lack of sunlight contributed to it. The smell was so noticeable that I had to sleep with a mask on every night and was worried it might affect my health.

I reported it to the staff, and while they said they cleaned the room, it felt more like they tried to cover the odor with aroma candles rather than performing a deep clean. The fragrance masked the smell temporarily, but once the candles burned out, the musty odor returned. Guests with asthma or allergies should take this into consideration. I wonder if the ocean-view rooms that get more sunlight had the same problem.

Aside from that, it’s an older hotel but with charm and character, and overall we were able to enjoy a relaxing stay. However, it may not quite live up to a true five-star standard.

Overall, our stay was quite underwhelming.

Check-in was unnecessarily complicated. Ironically, the staffs at the reception did not make us feel welcome at all from the start. Only one person named Sophie was very warm, the others didn’t even want to talk to us directly and instead talked to Sophie (in front of us) for Sophie to convey their messages (as though we couldn’t understand English). Took us too long to checkin and by the time we got to our room it was almost 6PM.

The shuttle service was very disappointing. Before departure, the driver remained seated in the car while guests queued outside waiting. When approached, he simply gestured towards the back and continued on his phone—very unprofessional. For the return trip, we had to wait almost 50 minutes for pickup. We started waiting at 9.30PM and only got back to the hotel close to 11PM, even though the ride itself takes no more than five minutes.

The Garden Room is poorly located—far from the lobby and accessible only by climbing many stairs. This was a huge inconvenience for my elderly parents who struggled to manage the steps.

Instead of being a relaxing getaway, the experience turned out frustrating. For the rate charged, the service and hospitality were far below expectations. And plus, we didn’t manage to experience all of what the hotel offers, even though we paid just as much.

I recently stayed at Cape Panwa Hotel in Phuket and had a truly relaxing experience. The location is absolutely perfect — surrounded by beautiful nature and offering stunning views. My room had a breathtaking sea view. There’s also a good choice of restaurants on-site. The beach is calm and wave-free, making it ideal for peaceful swimming and unwinding. Overall, a great place to relax and recharge.

Due to persistent webpage errors, I haven't been able to rate my stay. But I must find a way to let you know that my rating would be "very bad" and "sad," and I will make every effort to do so—whether through the system review or by contacting headquarters directly.

Starting with the service: I was deeply disappointed by the inefficiency. On the first day of my stay (the 15th), I noticed a drainage issue with the bathroom sink faucet and informed the staff, who promised to send an engineer at 8 AM the next morning. Yet by the time I checked out, the problem had never been addressed! I followed up with the staff every day from the 16th to the 17th, but no one took action. Is this turning a blind eye to guests or just abysmal service efficiency?

Next, the breakfast was far from appetizing, with a limited variety. In all the 5-star hotels I've stayed in, the breakfast quality is one of the benchmarks for judging a hotel's excellence. For three consecutive days, I only ate to fill my stomach—nothing more.

I'd hoped for a wonderful experience, but I'm extremely disappointed. I felt no sense of service here, just endless waiting.

Hotel was really nice with an amazing view of the sea and right next to the beach so if you want to go for a walk by the beach you can do it easily. Only cons is that it’s quite far from the airport (1hour+ ride) and not many stores nearby the hotel so was quite hard to find restaurants.
The spa was amazing as well, should try it!
