This place is just perfect and we had a wonderful time: private villa yet a “real place” - an island with primary schools, mosques, football ground, plenty of places to eat (La Sala being my absolute favorite!) and warm smiling people. We had boat trips, hikes, cycling and … loads of massage. To repeat. Definitely.

I spent Chinese New Year at Villa Taara, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The villa has an incredible charm that immediately makes you feel at home — peaceful, beautifully designed, and surrounded by nature. Even though it’s so close to the beach and resort amenities, it feels quiet and private, which is exactly what I was looking for. The atmosphere is serene, the pool is a wonderful spot to unwind, and the staff are genuinely warm and attentive. George and Bee are wonderful host. Celebrating the holiday here made it even more memorable. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and never want to leave.

Villa Taara at Ko Yao Bay Pavilions is the ideal mix of peace and convenience. Nestled in lush gardens just steps from a quiet pristine beach and the resort’s amenities, it offers total relaxation without feeling remote. A wonderful place, very quiet and spacious. Perfect for relaxing, enjoying the almost deserted beach and the tropical park. The welcome is simple and warm — a hidden gem to discover!

We stayed only 3 nights, but the time passed too quickly. A perfect villa surrounded by nature, with a very good restaurant on site.

Loved our stay here, four of us stayed in a villa which had a really nice pool shared with the one bedroom villa next door. The resort is small, right next to an idyllic small sandy beach and should get 8 or 9 stars for service rather than just five. Ryan was super friendly and helped with suggestions for restaurants, tours, things to do, booking massages etc. The location is great, just a short walk from restaurants, bars etc but nice and quiet too. We didn't have dinner here but lunch and breakfast were excellent and they were very accommodating with vegan options. Def book this one of you want a relaxing time in beautiful surroundings with exceptional service

A gem on the island, with each villa having been well engineered and seriously built, respecting the local tradition. Very welcoming and professional team, always willing to do what it takes to please and make sure guests truly enjoy their stay. A special attention is given to food preparation only using quality products. The result is excellent meals for breakfast and dinner. The premises are well maintained and you feel the staff is happily working there. A great place to reside on this charming island. Thank you to Miss B, Georges, and Ryan.

My wife and I had a truly unforgettable stay at Koyao Bay Pavilions. We arrived fresh from a few days at the Banyan Tree in Krabi — a stunning place in its own right — but what awaited us on Koh Yao was an entirely different, deeply enriching experience.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Ryan, the General Manager — though calling him just a GM doesn’t quite cut it. Ryan is a rare combination of professionalism and genuine kindness. He personally gave us a tour of the property, helped us sort out bikes, and shared thoughtful suggestions for exploring the area. He even gave us his personal WhatsApp, insisting we reach out anytime — even while he was on holiday. Ryan, you’re an absolute gem, mate!

The property itself is a masterclass in thoughtful design and understated luxury. Tucked away on a secluded beach with jaw-dropping views of Krabi Bay, it blends harmoniously with nature. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, from the architecture to the serene paddy field that surrounds the on-site restaurant — all radiating an effortlessly relaxing island vibe.

This isn’t your cookie-cutter resort with constant room service and resort glitz. Koyao Bay Pavilions offers something rarer — a luxurious yet grounded experience that connects you to the land, the sea, and the people. Speaking with the owners, Georges and Bee, was a genuine highlight. Hearing the story of how they built this place from the ground up was inspiring — and we’re already planning to return just to continue that conversation.

The beach suites offer an elevated beach-living experience, open to the elements and without air conditioning — which worked perfectly for us, especially with the rain cooling things down. For those who prefer it, the other villas do have AC.

If I had to suggest anything, it would be to consider portable AC units for peak summer months, and maybe a few dumbbells or basic fitness gear for a beach workout session.

All in all, Koyao Bay Pavilions delivers on design, value, peace, and connection. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave — thanks to the views, the vibe, and above all, the people.

My partner and I stayed at Koyao Bay Pavilions in March 2025. The property is beautiful and very well kept. The pavilions are so nice and ours was 20 meters from the beach.
Our hosts, Ryan and George were excellent helping with outings, advice on places to see and scheduling taxis and boat services.
The restaurant there is also very good - try the seasonal fruit platter for breakfast - and the Thai omelet!
We rented a scooter to help explore the island although there are restaurants and pubs within a 15 minute walk too.
