Hotels in Samet Island

Regular guest here. The hotel itself is nice but service is different. It tends to be some staff members differentiate the guests depending from which country they are. If you’re European looking, 100% you’ll get a perfect service, otherwise you’ll be not so lucky or even can face rudeness and unwillingness to help. So sad that the hotel policy is so frustrating and undeveloped.

The second time I booked a premier room for 2 nights in the Sai Kaew Resort. You get into the hotel and just feel well. It's modern, clean, quiet. Good breakfast (please offer bananas and nutella in future).

The whole travel to and from the island via the ferry and cars where your luggage is delivered to your room was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room had too many bugs and ants. I was so itchy all over with bumps and red spots! I've never experienced this on any other Thai island before! There were just too many insects! Now I'm a bit sensitive and fearful of beachfront hotels.

This is our go-to accommodation whenever we visit Samet. It's shady and the staff are lovely and attentive. It's a shame that the room was only available for five days; I wish I could have stayed for ten. We'll definitely be back next time!

The hotel is clean, and the rooms are spacious. The pool is also large and well-maintained. It's not far from the pier and has good cafes and restaurants nearby.

Excellent! It's close to the beach and has a swimming pool for the kids. Getting there was easy, and the breakfast was varied and delicious. The accommodation was peaceful, but the air conditioning in the room was very noisy because it's old. Everything else was great, and the service was good too. It's perfect for a family vacation where you truly want to relax. There's not much traffic passing by...

From the moment I checked in, I felt very welcomed by the front desk team, especially Khun Janphen. She was attentive, detail-oriented, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room and facilities were very clean and well-kept. After 7 p.m., they also hosted an outdoor movie, which was such a nice touch. I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely come back again.

The service was excellent, and the accommodation was spotless. The natural scenery was breathtaking, offering fantastic photo opportunities. They also have a lovely swimming pool, and the food was delicious! 🤍

Second line from the beach, communal pool and dining areas are stuffed with people, light in some rooms is not good, they open onto internal passageways so people walking by regularly doesn’t make it very peaceful. Good to use as a beach base and exploring other places nearby.

I love Pavillion resort at Ao Phai beach in Samed. Great breakfast, friendly staff, nice pool. The only downside was I found it difficult to get the shower at a good temperature, either too hot or too cold. Despite this, I would visit again!

We paid premium price for this hotel as we were quite last minute. It’s not even a 3 star hotel. It’s old and moldy. Service was poor. Cleanliness not up to standard for what we paid. They do have a pool and they are located close to center. But all in all don’t expect too much.

Decent hotel with beautiful beach but needs more attention to details to become the 5-stars resort it is pretending to be. We mentioned on our booking we were vegan yet every… single… meal… was a battle having to explain that we don’t eat animal products. A 5-stars hotel with about 10 occupied rooms should know the bare minimum about their guests in order to make them feel like they are in good hands...

The beach of this hotel is fabulous with crystal clear waters. The hotel was being renovated when we arrived, so there were lots of work people and noise - we were only told of this after we had booked our room - it was advised in the confirmation email - no information beforehand. The resort is at the end of the road which gives you 90% privacy / motor bikes aren’t allowed and day guests drift in and out . Stayed here for 3 nights with my daughter. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Room was spacious, clean and had a great view of the water. Seafood and breakfast buffet were good. We went on a private 3 hr snorkelling trip which was fantastic!! Went early in the morning and had snorkelling sites to ourselves. I stayed in a standalone Thai-style bungalow, which was really nice, but the birds outside started chirping at 5 AM and it was a bit noisy. Every evening there were beach fire dance shows. The hotel restaurant is right by the beach, so you can sit there all day with a beer or coffee. The only downside is that the breakfast is pretty mediocre, haha.

The room was very small and full of mosquitoes. Seriously, it was tiny. The conditions were pretty mediocre overall, but the location was great, making it suitable for families traveling with children.

The hotel is lovely, and the traditional wooden bungalow is perfect for a solo traveler, what was not great is the constant music till 10 at night, if you are looking for peace and quiet this is not the place to stay. The taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. One of the nicest resorts on the island with the nicest staff attending to us. The rooms are more than adequate for our needs and the food in the restaurant delicious! The beach is quiet and not as busy as other places on the island hence the reason why I will be going back there!

Overall, I'm very satisfied! After arriving by bus, we walked about 600m to the pier reception, then took a slow boat to the hotel's pier. Beautiful hotel in a very quiet part of the island. Loved the buffet breakfast, nice selection of western and Thai foods. The room was modern, and exceptionally clean. Very restful stay! The hotel is at the BEST location im telling you. Just into the beach and the one and only walkingstreet (literally the only one on Koh Samed). Staff is nothing special, got 1 goodmorning on a 10 day visit. 6 people sitting around the resturant area and nobody cares to help you. Everything great. Two small caveats that don't merit a star deduction. One, the AC smelled bad for about one day. After that, it was fine. Second, in high season, the beach chairs are really crowded closely together. Not a big deal, just wanted to mention it. Recommended.

On top of the Island far from the center recommend you guys to rent a motorbike but if you like to walk is also can in the night the weather is so good so chill, the resort is so quiet and private. This hotel isn't bad, it's stylishly designed, and the room is clean and tidy. The only downside is that there's no real beach directly attached to the hotel, and the access is from the sea side. There are no sun loungers, just tables on the sand. When it's high tide, the water comes right up to the hotel entrance, and when it's low tide in the evenings, it recedes about 200 meters, creating space...

We've had a good time here. Spent five nights in total. We booked the garden view bungalow and it was as expected regarding the fair price. Clean place, free water daily, had no issues. Mixed one, definatley the dissapointment of our trip but not a bad hotel per se. Good and nice resort. Great to stay for 2-3 days. Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner is understaffed, which means you need to wait long for your order to arrive. We had lovely two nights stay here at room v6, enough space for two ppl and room is clean no bugs. Resort is not 24 hours service but we didn’t have any issues. This is more about the Resturant. The food was well cooked and the menu was comprehensive. The place is very clean and tidy.

The restaurant service is very fast, the food is delicious; many guests from neighboring hotels ate there. All amenities are nearby, the sea is a three-minute walk away, and there's a 7-11 nearby. Upon check-in, all our luggage was carried to our room on the second floor. All issues were resolved promptly, and housekeeping is provided daily!
