A beatiful beach. Probably the best on the island. White sand and shade under the trees. The accomodation is an eclectic mix of aging bungalows, a large accomodation block and some very modern chalets. The place is maintained and cleaned by friendly staff. There is a well maintained swimming pool, however no sun shades or sun beds. The breakfast is minimal though with a small selection of food and mostly cold. This is served in a old canteen type building. When i was there in November i would estimate that the place was about 20% full if that. Also the nicer rooms don't seem to be advertised on the booking platforms. Despite everything i would still recommend a stay here for the lovely beach. And pay a little extra for the new chalets. There is also a pleasant restaurant serving food and drink all day untill 9pm.For a video of the place see Youtube - Paddy Doyle Koh Samet and scroll through to 27 minutes in.

I stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately fell ill during my stay. My condition became serious enough that I was unable to continue with my trip. For health reasons, I requested an early check-out and a refund for the unused nights, hoping the hotel would understand.

To my disappointment, the hotel’s response was completely insensitive. Instead of showing any concern for my situation, they simply refused the refund, citing their “non-refundable booking” policy. Even after explaining that I was unwell and had to leave for health reasons, they still wouldn’t make an exception.

As a hotel, I believe basic empathy and compassion should come first. It was already a tough situation, but the hotel's cold and rigid attitude only made it worse. They cared more about sticking to the rules than about the well-being of their guest.

I’m sharing this to warn others: if you book with this hotel, be aware that they may not support you in case of emergencies. I hope the management reconsiders how they treat guests in vulnerable situations. Hospitality is supposed to be about people, not just policies.

We had a bad experience in Koh Samet before arriving at Samed Ville Resort, so this stay really changed our perspective.

To be completely honest, this might be the best beach on the island. We were lucky with our chalet, located right on the cliff — probably one of the newest ones, as the stairs leading to it were still unfinished. As for the view, I’m honestly lost for words. It was absolutely stunning, and if we could, we would have stayed for another week without hesitation.

Breakfast would have been good if the food had been hot — unfortunately, everything was served cold.

The restaurant is quite overpriced for what it delivers.

One downside was that the sunbeds were not included and had to be paid for separately.

That said, the staff was always amazing, extremely kind, and very helpful throughout our stay.

I have eaten at this resort’s restaurant twice, and honestly, I was not impressed either time.

The first time, I tried not to think too much about it, but some of the staff clearly seemed careless and uninterested in their work. They did not appear to care about providing good service or making customers feel welcome or happy to be there.

On my second visit, I asked whether I could order drinks at a certain counter, because I genuinely did not know where drinks were supposed to be ordered. The reason I asked was also because I did not want to order from the restaurant staff, as I had already experienced slow service and a lack of attention from them before.

Unfortunately, the person working at the drinks counter was no better than the staff taking orders or serving food. Instead of simply explaining where I could order, she did not respond at first and looked at me in an unfriendly way. I reacted with the same expression and stood there looking at her. Only then did she tell me to go to the cashier first and then come back to pick up the drink. She is a female staff member, not the owner. She looked rather old, did not smile, and her manner of speaking was not very pleasant. She was not rude or using bad language, but her attitude, facial expression, and eye contact were far from friendly. It almost felt as if she thought I was asking for a free drink!?

When I went to order drinks at the place I was told to go, which was the cashier area, there were two women sitting there. I believe that one of them was the owner of the resort, or at least a senior manager. She was completely different from the other staff members I had encountered. She was polite, well-mannered, and spoke to me kindly. I had met her before during my first visit, and on both occasions she treated me with respect and courtesy. She came across as well-educated and properly trained, which was in clear contrast to the older staff member who was preparing drinks on the day I visited.

Honestly, if someone has no mood or willingness to work in customer service, it might be better for them to find another role that does not involve dealing with customers, such as cleaning or back-of-house work. This kind of unfriendly and poor service only damages the resort’s reputation. Bad service and unwelcoming staff are exactly the reasons why people may not want to stay at the resort or come back to eat here.

I do not expect there will be a third visit to this place.

Overall, the stay was okay – you get what you pay for. The bungalow-on-the-beach concept is really nice, but these bungalows could use more investment and better maintenance. Ours (No. 7) was not very clean and there was a constant unpleasant smell, similar to urine. It would also be good to have basic items like a teaspoon, especially since there is a kettle and coffee cups provided.
On the positive side, we received fresh towels, shower gel, shampoo, and bottled water every day, which was great. Breakfast was tasty, but the food was often lukewarm or cold since it’s not kept warm, especially if you arrive later.
The restaurant offers average food with higher prices, which is expected as it’s the only restaurant on the beach. However, the service is very poor and extremely slow. If you are dining with two or more people, dishes often arrive 20–25 minutes apart, so meals are eaten cold. The staff frequently mixes up orders and brings food to the wrong tables, and we witnessed several situations where someone else ate the wrong order, which is very frustrating given the long waiting time.

Friends, hello everyone, my wife and I vacationed in mid-March, we really liked everything, friendly staff, nice beach, clean Coastline, few tourists, location of 10 9, there is nothing nearby, not even a store, you need to either go on bikes or, well, tuk-tuk, we really liked the sea!
We were in the villa for 10 days, experienced different weather and time of day) a place of indescribable beauty!

A very good hotel in a stunningly beautiful location. Quiet beach, not many people, cozy houses, friendly staff. One of the nuances is that the cuisine is not the strongest when compared with other places on the island. There is a shop with everything you need.

The beach is right at the door of the room, the most cost-effective hotel on the island

The impression is good. Cleaning is quick and hassle-free. The cuisine is excellent, everything is very tasty. The location is away from the noisy places of the island, great for relaxation. Of the minuses: the furniture is worn out, there is no hairdryer or kettle in the rooms, no umbrellas by the pool

This is not the first time we have stayed in a hotel as a family. All good. Great beach. Thank you!
