Reviews
Hotel Building- the hotel itself looks ok, I agree with other comments that the pool is strange. The beach is nice enough but the monstrosity of a concrete pier next to it spoils the whole paradise view. The beach was filled with people smoking **** the first night we arrived. They played continuous tacky Christmas songs at breakfast.
Room- we stayed in a garden view bungalow which was lovely, only downside was the loud aircon.
Staff- the reception staff were friendly on arrival but other than that we found the staff to be unwelcoming and not the usual Thai smiley faces you see in other resorts.
Food- breakfast is the worst I’ve had in Thailand (and I’ve been several times), very little choice, cheap coffee machine, very little fresh fruit and no fresh juice just processed stuff. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and it was virtually inedible, BBQ fish was black and over cooked.
Personally I don’t think this hotel is worthy of a 4* rating, we visited and ate at a resort the other side of the concrete pier that was only 3 * and far more luxurious with delicious fresh food in the restaurant.
We saw the parrot mentioned in other reviews and as somebody who rescues animals I can tell you it is not happy or healthy, it’s pulling its own feathers out out of boredom, cage was filthy and no stimulation for a lone bird in captivity.
Room cleaning is aimed at the flow of day tourists. Coffee and towels are constantly not reported. I have to call the reception desk every day to ask for something. Tea bags were no longer provided in the room. A tent camp was set up under the windows, instead of a coconut grove. The reception is not professional, cannot or does not want to allocate rooms correctly. Regular guests who come to the hotel for more than a week are given a room with a view of the tent camp, which is correspondingly worse than one-day guests. The food in the hotel is terrible. For breakfast, there is one dish, both with onions and poorly cooked, with only watermelon (instant coffee. On the first day we decided to go out for dinner, we ordered tom yam, we hadn't eaten such a terrible soup anywhere, very salty with frozen (old) shrimps (The beach doesn't seem to be bad, but sometimes there are ships because of the proximity of the pier, and then they stink and garbage floats.
