Railay Bay Resort and Spa in Railay Beach

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The garden design is beautiful, and the complimentary mini-bar is refilled daily with a great selection of drinks and snacks. Breakfast at the beachfront restaurant is a real treat, enjoying the morning views of Railay Bay – so relaxing. The sunset views in the evening are absolutely stunning.

Every day, we saw adorable dusky leaf monkeys cooling off and munching on leaves on the rooftops and in the trees. They were incredibly cute! We also spotted a hornbill.

Visited in peak season (January) and it was incredibly crowded. All rooms were booked, and Railay Beach was packed like sardines. The facilities are definitely 4-star. I tried both the private bungalow, which was about 300+ baht more, and the basic double room. The independent private bungalow offered a much better bathroom and a more resort-like atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend not skimping on that extra cost. The sunrise and the night view when it's less crowded at Railay Beach are still beautiful. However, I'm genuinely fed up with Southeast Asia. Even if you're willing to spend a lot, the sheer number of people everywhere makes it feel like a budget backpacker trip.

Oh, and a point I haven't seen mentioned: currently, the boats from the hotel to Ao Nam Mao pier (which doesn't require wading) are very infrequent, only at times like 2 PM and 4 PM. I suggest just taking the public boats; they depart once enough people have gathered. Also, this hotel is a 4-star, and the main difference from a 5-star is the lack of service – everything is self-service. Come prepared for that.

One more thing: if you want to go to Ton Sai Beach, which is next to Railay Beach, I recommend wading through the water from the beach. Just be careful. Don't take the other mountain path! That experience was really bad – the path is narrow, difficult to walk, very primitive, and unmaintained, and you'll get bitten a lot.

Absolutely stunning location right on the beach, we only spent one day and night here but wish we spent more!
Room was stunning slightly dated but still beautiful with an outside jacuzzi bath.
Pool area was beautiful, only small let down was the pool bar, no cold sprite/soft drinks, we had to walk down the beach to buy from somewhere else. When we arrive we also couldn’t check in until later which was fine however would have been great if we were provided some beach towels to use before then.

We enjoyed us staying great location. Breakfast was kind of average, but overall, yeah really good.

Though the facilities need to be updated, we totally enjoyed its exotic location and laid-back guest criteria. Perfect base for a rock climbing recce for those who visit Krabi for the first time. We will definitely be back!

Great hotel for couples and families. Minibar is for free everyday, that’s a plus! Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and direct access to the best two beaches ✌🏽
