Hôtel Mezri in Monastir

The hotel is quite old and definitely shows its age, with a mix of ups and downs. One of the first surprises is that the rooms don’t come with a refrigerator unless you pay extra, which can be inconvenient. Hygiene was also an issue during my stay — I noticed small roaches in the restaurant area, as well as in the bathroom and bathtub. Some areas had mold, and the drains were clogged with hair. Ants and fruit flies in the bathroom were also a common sight.

There is only one elevator for the whole building, so it often gets crowded and slow, especially during busy hours. The overall atmosphere tends to feel a bit like a retirement home, as most guests were older people.

Breakfast is extremely simple and limited, offering only basics like milk, coffee, bread, jam, butter, boiled eggs, and tomatoes. If you’re expecting variety, you might be disappointed.

Despite all that, the two strong points of the hotel are the staff and the location. The staff members are kind, helpful, and do their best, and the hotel is situated in a very convenient spot.

during my stay, it was really loud especially with the renovations the hotel was undergoing, non stop drill noises and the thin doors allow noise to seep through.

definitely won't be visiting this hotel.

The room was catastrophically dirty! They forgot to clean it even the booking was 5hours before my arrival !
I never experience a service and a welcome like i got ! The first phrase the receptionist told me is « we don’t have towels at 2 am i still regret to not sleep in my car it i will feel less dirty after that night
After reporting the incident the Hotel give us a new room with a sea view as an offer that we paided 90TND
