The staff is very friendly and professional. The room is typical for a downtown medium sized hotel: it stretches to accommodate all the essentials, but don't expect extra space. Also, it's dark since the lights are intended to create an atmosphere but it's hard to see if it's properly clean, which I'm afraid it's not: I found both long and ***** hair on the duvet, which is a total no go. Moreover, the bathtub was blocked and there was also mould on it. Breakfast ok, but lacks options for diabetics, e.g. wholegrain bakery, and the cook declined my request for an omelette.

The biggest issue with my stay is with the location of the hotel. There are roadblocks all around the vicinity of the hotel, and very inaccessible by foot and by car. For those who drive, avoid this hotel at all costs, because navigating to this hotel is almost impossible.

The air conditioning in the room was not working, and despite informing the reception, they sent up the security guard to inspect the room, and suggested opening the window.

Breakfast was acceptable.

Overall, I cannot recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, despite the price and vicinity to city centre.

Gulf Royal Hotel offered a smooth and pleasant experience. The location is perfect for exploring Tunis. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A great option for a short stay with good value for money. Would stay again

I stayed for one night waiting for my flight transiting for one day in Tunis.
I called them from the airport around 10 a.m., asking if I could have an early check-in, and they said yes.
I got the room 10 minutes after arriving.
The room is spacious, clean, and organised. The bathroom is big as well.
It had a mini bar, a kettle, and a TV.
In the morning, I had breakfast there. It was varied and tasty. The staff is also friendly and helpful, especially the lady in the restaurant.
The location is good and very central. There are plenty of shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants around.

The only bad thing was that there was a horrible smell around 6 am. coming from the air-conditioning. It was so strong that it woke me up.

All in all, the stay for one night was OK, and you get what you pay for, and for that budget, what they are offering is excellent.

Such an expensive hotel doesn't have a toothpaste or teeth brush and the wifi was so weak honestly except the location doesn't worth this price

A small restaurant next to café de Paris which offered a calm no smoking area with cheap food and local alcoholic drink. It is well frequented and far available for tourists.
