Cettia Beach Resort - Adults Only in Marmaris

Me and my wife are a young married couple (for context) stayed here for just shy of a week. This hotel is more of an older persons/pensioners hotel, there was not many young people. The hotel itself, aesthetically is lovely, nice chilled vibe, however the rooms are dated, which for me is a bit of a downfall, the photo’s do not give you an authentic image. Our room was a bit grubby in certain edges of the room, our shower kept splurging out water all over the bathroom, to which we had to mop it up everyday. Then first night we arrived (1am), we found dried blood stains on the bed, which we made the staff aware of in the morning - not what you want to find after a day of flying and long transfers. But the view from out hotel was amazing of the mountains and water. This was my wife’s first beach holiday, and my first beach holiday in a long time (since I was a teenager) so we may have been out of touch with tipping culture, but we paid for all inclusive, we found the staff were nice, but we sense there were favouritism amongst the older guests at the hotel, either they were good tippers or regulars, but in some sense we felt like we were pushed aside, and when there was a bartender who said “you are my favourite couple” - we never had a conversation prior, so Im sensing we did not tip appropriately (he may have been fishing for a tip), although we tipped the maids (regardless of the stain) and bell boys. However, the drinks were good, a few drinks on offer but not sure I’d class the ‘cocktails’ as proper cocktails, for example a “cube libre” - a basic rum and coke :’). The food I found was pretty good to be fair, there was a mixture for everyone I felt, the dessert was a bit stale (refrigerated leftovers), but in general, lunch and dinner, snacks I enjoyed - breakfast however, dont expect amazing things, we went to Emy’s Coffee and Cake down the road instead, they do lovely coffee and delicious cake! We knew Marmaris was a lively town for the brits, nightlife wise, so we purposefully booked this hotel on the outskirts of that area, but unfortunately the noise levels were unpleasant every night, we lost a fair bit of sleep over the week. We found to be a bit exhausted with he constant badgering in sales people, photographers, masseuse, even though we didn’t want these options, they just kept on coming! Also, another gripe, we had a morning of rain, so we wanted to play some pool to kill time, they advertise a pool table as an amenity, yet you have to pay extra to use the pool table! Very deceiving from the hotel. Some positives after my moaning, the specific location of the hotel is good for convenience for shops, markets etc. The jetty was peaceful and had plenty of spaces to sit in October sun. Overall, I personally wouldn’t stop at this hotel again, the only thing that made the experience worth It was the food and drinks, the hotel overall is good, not great, the rooms lets the hotel down.
