ibis Istanbul West

I had a disappointing stay at Ibis Istanbul for 6 nights. The WiFi was down for two consecutive days, which is unacceptable, especially for a hotel in a major city like Istanbul. Despite this issue, no technician was arranged during that time, which made the experience frustrating.

Additionally, there was a constant noise coming from the air conditioner, which disturbed my sleep—a problem I’ve never encountered in a hotel before.

While I understand that paying less might mean fewer amenities, the service was not satisfactory. One day they forgot to provide water bottles, and on two occasions, they forgot to place a foot towel in the bathroom. Basic items like a shaving kit and toothbrush are only available upon request, which was inconvenient.

On the positive side, room cleaning was good, and the staff were polite and friendly. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, this hotel might work for you, but be prepared for some service-related issues.

The good thing was staff and breakfast. All other things are not Ibis level. Recommended for 1 or 2 nights for business travellers around the hotel only. Not recommended for long stays or tourists "very far from attractions and away from Metro"

I was disappointed with this hotel for two reasons.

First of all, although their website states their restaurant is open until 10pm, when I arrived at 8.45pm I was informed the restaurant was closed. Cleaning of kitchen. Can only serve drinks. Such information should be on their website so that guests can plan to have their dinners elsewhere if they will be late.

Secondly, my room’s air conditioner was blowing hot resulting in the room being very warm. When I asked the reception, I was informed that the temperature was very cold two days ago and their they turned the central aircon to heating mode. But it was 20 degrees C at 10pm. They then unlocked the window security so that it can be fully opened. But that resulted in very loud noise from the traffic. Suffice to say I did not sleep well that night.

During this period just before autumn, when the temperature is alternating between cold and warm, be more proactive to adjust the mode of central from heating to cooling every day as required.

Location of hotel is not ideal as it is not in the center of city. Please note that Istanbul Airport is about 40km away.
