Hotel Bi̇nli̇k in Dalyan

Stayed in September and the nicest thing I can think of is the closeness to the town, only a short walk but far enough to be quiet. Rooms are very basic not even Kettle with Tea and Coffee making facilities there was a threadbare thin blanket as a bed cover. and there was a mini fridge and 2 bottles of water that they charge for and staff did not come around until late afternoon to clean room by which time we were showering to go out so told them not to bother! The pool area could so with some new beds and cushions they are left out all day and night and cats and dogs laying all over them so are thin and dirty, It all looked a bit tired and in need of modernisation. The bar did food which wasn't too bad but it finishes at 5 so if you come back from a day out you still have to go out to find something to eat. Breakfast very repetitive and the only smiling members of staff are the Egg Lady and Ozzy the barman the other young girls all looked so unhappy, probably as the owners wander around and call them if they see something they want clearing up instead of just picking it up themselves as they are passing but they rarely smiled or interacted with any of the holiday makers.

We booked this holiday about a month ago and upon arrival first impression was not good I’m afraid there was no staff other than a young lady on reception there was a power cut so no lights on and was shown our room 3 flights upstairs in the dark which was difficult but we where moved to another room the following morning but the balcony didn’t have a lock on and 2 mornings we ended up with the hotel cats in our room. Tea making should be as standard in hotels with arriving so late a cuppa would have been very welcome and to be charged for 2 bottles of water not a good start. The pool area and gardens needs some attention. The staff seem as if they don’t want to be there not a smile among them so didn’t say anything to anyone as no one seems bothered.we love Dalyan and will return but sorry not to the hotel.

Positives - Fantastic location, within a 5 minute walk to all of Dalyan's great bars and restaurants. - No issues with getting sun loungers - Didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to put towels down and it was easy to find sun loungers later in the afternoon if you were out all morning. - Bar drinks are reasonably priced with a good selection of coffees with a proper coffee machine, nice wines and they make a good G&T 😋 - Pretty grounds and nice pools. - Staff very accommodating allowing us to keep the same room for the late check out. - Although the rooms are basic, they have everything you need with good air con and a good sized fridge. Negatives - Room cleanliness- On arrival it says that bedding and towels are changed every 3 days. However, we stayed for 11 nights and we were given new towels once. The bedding had not been changed the whole time that we were there (there was a stain on the bed sheet when we arrived which was still there at the end of our stay). Floors are not swept/mopped enough either. - Breakfast is limited and repetitive. Overall, my husband and I found the breakfast to be poor quality. For example, only one type of juice available each morning and it wasn't fresh juice, same types of bread every morning, same two types of cheese every morning, unripe plums and watermelon were the only two types of fruit available. There was a lovely lady cooking fresh eggs and pancakes which were great and the coffee was decent which was a bonus. - Late checkout charge of £35 must be paid in pounds sterling, which we were not told until we were paying our bill at check out on our last day. In order to get late check out you have to ask on the morning when you are due to leave. There was no issues with keeping our room on until we had to leave later that evening which was great however, when we went to pay the bill at check out the manager said that they wanted the late check out fee of £35 paid in pounds and cash which we were not made aware of and therefore we didn't have the cash. They allowed us to pay in Turkish lira using our card however, the manager was quite rude about it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Binlik as the location is perfect and the pools are lovely. However, we wouldn't stay again due to the negative points above and we felt that although most of the staff were lovely, the managers were unwelcoming.
