The rooms are a bit dated, but where the Opera shines is in service. The breakfast team is absolutely fabulous and go out of their way to prepare whatever you may desire (their Opera poached eggs are exceptional) and they make great coffee.

It is an old school (classic style) hotel with spotless facilities. I liked the interiors a lot; it was like time travel to go to classic interior design:) Breakfast was fine; the hotel’s location is not in the center of the main street but down the road. The one improvement would be interior lighting technology; it was hard to figure out which light would help with which one. The second thing is the backyard-looking rooms get little sunlight - at least mine was like that. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay in this well established hotel!

Opera is a good option if you need a unfussy, friendly hotel CV in a nice leafy, quiet and cool neighbourhood of Kyiv. The staff are great and super helpful. Thought the spa was excellent too. The room was spacious and bed was really comfortable. I slept really well. The air raid shelter is a particular highlight as it’s equipped with six double beds and you can get an excellent night sleep down there if there’s an air alert. (Note it is not underground but on a 1st floor strong room which should be sufficient(. Thanks for a great stay!
