Good location modern hotel just no lift working still !!!!!! Over 2 months
Very clean, friendly and helpful staff
Good room, only problem was that there was no separate cubicle for shower. Both toilet and shower was in same place.
Service was amazing. I arrived at the hotel and they told me that the lift was broken and my room was on second floor which was just a standard sleep room so they said they can move me to an apartment room on the first floor which was absolutely amazing I was extremely grateful. I got to experience like had the apartment when was it was amazing and I just love this hotel. I’ve been coming here for...
Was little bit cramped but great comfort and entertainment need to always check their amenities
Great location in the jewellery quarter with everything we needed within walking distance. Room was spotless, although slightly small but perfect for an overnight stay. We would definitely stay again

Birmingham, 225 Hagley Road (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Nice big hotel located on Hagley road, outer rooms on the curve are lovely big and have plenty of space. However the internal rooms on the inside of the curve are remarkably smaller and feel much less inviting. However regardless, staff are lovely and the bar/restaurant are good but a little pricey.
Really clean and beds was so comfortable
The hotel is located outside Birmingham city centre but there is a handy bus stop just in front 9f the hotel connecting with Birmingham New Street.
The hotel is not modern but clean and value for money. The bed is comfortable and the usual Kettle, Coffee and Tea are available.
Breakfast was good and more than sufficient. Unless you need to be in the centre this hotel is certainly worth a stay.
Really enjoyed my stay at the strathallan. Some rooms are a bit dated but If you upgrade to the nicer rooms you definitely get what you pay for. Still overall a good hotel for the price point and good location
The hotel doesn't look up to much from the outside as it's in much need of some TLC but the reception area was a pleasant surprise & the lady in the desk was lovely. The room was small but very nice & did the job for the night at a very good price. We had a full English breakfast in the morning for an additional £10 and it was an all you can buffet style and was good.
The room was too cold during the winter.. the heater is not strong enough. Not suitable for those who are not able to tolerate the cold weather.

Great hotel, really friendly staff. My room was great and it's one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in!
Breakfast was good. The room was very nice and comfortable. I really like the rooms having babes and not numbers along with traditional theme.
I recently stayed at Hotel du Vin Birmingham for one night, mainly because the location was very convenient for an event nearby. Unfortunately, the stay didn’t start well. When my partner arrived first, he noticed the room didn’t seem properly cleaned. We raised this with staff and were moved to another room on the third floor. Although this room felt cleaner, it still wasn’t spotless — the carpet...
Birthday night away. Very grand lounge and smart staff. Had some good martinis and lovely cup of tea. Spent the late afternoon and evening in the bar.
Cosy and warm.
Nice room, very spacious but felt odd like furniture missing! Bathroom dated.
Good bed and bedding :-)
Breakfast was terrible, let’s the hotel down.
Asked for cream cheese bagels and was given what tasted like whipped cream - defo not...
Great location, comfy bed, however the room was very noisy (corridor noise). Also construction work is ongoing- nice drink token left to recognise this. One issue is the lobby, the entrance doors are very hard to open by yourself with bags as you are on the stairs. But overall good stay.
It’s beautiful building, rooms are nice but few issues:
- radiator in bedroom doesn’t work so had a portable one
- poor lighting in bedroom, only one spotlight in the room, bathroom lighting very bright
- radiator in bathroom is really loud when switched on
- window had a gap, not sealed so a slight breeze would come in
- on arrival no info was shared on breakfast or complimentary drinks
- room names...

Great service, friendly staff. Comfortable stay. Very welcoming
It’s a good hotel just a bit hard to find due to the wrong postcode on the website
Very money making. Never listened to me when explained I’d IHG membership and had requested late check out. Just dismissed as I’d booked through trip.com.
Good location for good rest, very nice staff and its close to the motorway. Room was warm and the breakfast was a bonus.

Hotel was good with spacious bed , tv, pretty big bathroom and toilet , with kettle and some snacks for guests
Good hotel, breakfast was brilliant.
Because my flight was late setting off from Dubai by one and a half hours. I missed by connecting flight from Istanbul and had a get a flight the day after.
When I arrived in Birmingham the next day and went to the hotel they said my both days have been cancelled and I had to rebook again which cost me another £120. They told me to take it up with Trip.com. Which was very disappointing.

Nice room, value for money, basic amenities provided. Good walking distance within 10 mins to Bull Ring.
The location is very nice, which you could just walk few minutes to the big train station.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with a modern and stylish feel throughout. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Its location right in the city centre was perfect, everything was easily accessible, making it a great choice for convenience and comfort. I would definitely stay here again.
Went with my daughter. as we were seeing Fatboy Slim at the O2 and it’s location to there is literally around the corner and not far from the station or the shopping centre. It is very modern and clean and the bed was so comfy with gorgeous crisp white cotton sheets . Will definitely be going g back when we go to the 02 again!
The location was great, with many shops nearby, making it a convenient base for exploring. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay.
This was the third time staying at the hotel and again the service and room were excellent. Very quiet and a really good sleep.

Location is unique and service is great. Breakfast was really nice and varied.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Cleanliness is something I look for when staying in hotels, and this place was absolutely spotless, can’t fault it one bit.
The staff were friendly and very helpful which made the experience even better.
Bus stop 5 min walk from hotel that gets you into the city centre.
Highly recommend!
The hotel is easily accessible. The room is large enough. The breakfest was good. The car is parked on the hotelparking. For a short stop it is good. We had just a stop on the way south.
The environment is quite nice, with natural scenery and fountains, giving it a castle-like feel. The breakfast selection is quite rich, and overall, it's a good experience. It's very suitable for a relaxing family trip.
This place was a great location, absolutely beautiful castle, and comfortable room. Clean, nice staff, and while it is seemingly a very busy wedding venue you can still take time to look throughout the beautiful old building and nice garden outside. Our slight issue with some of the lighting was spoken about in person to the staff who were open and listened, which we appreciated. Enjoyed the bar and...
I looked it up online, and apparently, it used to be a count's castle, even housing soldiers during WWI before being abandoned and later renovated to reopen. Compared to chain hotels at a similar price point, the only advantage is the larger rooms; everything else, like the outdated facilities and lack of an elevator, isn't great. However, as a unique experience during our trip, it was still worthwhile...

This hotel is conveniently close to Birmingham New Street railway station and the Bull Ring shopping centre. My room was comfortable and had an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. I stayed on a room-only basis.
Nice and friendly reception
Very good manners and helpful
Nice and clean room we have
Great location close to the train
My room although a little dated was clean & pretty comfortable. Bedding & towels were both fresh and nice smelling. Bed was comfortable too
I stayed in room 209 which didn't have a vanity mirror help when doing my hair and make-up. There was a mirror in the bathroom but obviously there weren't any electric sockets for a hairdryer or straighteners

Staff very friendly and helpful. Helped with the luggage.
Good sized room, very good shower but the room and bathroom was dusty. Required a thorough clean.
No lift to 1st floor and ground floor rooms not available.
Such a lovely hotel, staff were so helpful and pleasant, very comfortable nights sleep, room kept warm in spite of freezing temperatures outside, everything spotless.
I found the room was clean tidy and adequate at the price point unfortunately there was a problem with the heating and it was an extremely cold night. I was provided with a small electric heater but it wasn’t the best night for me. Also probably my own fault but I didn’t realise until my booking confirmation that there was a separate charge (£15) for parking.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the old part of the hotel where we stayed was full of gorgeous oak panelling and high-ceilings rooms with cornicing. Our room (one level higher than standard) was clean and spacious with a large bathroom and facilities including hairdryer and iron. The sausages and bacon at breakfast were better than the budget offerings in many hotels. The shower we easily the best...
I had to pay for breakfast and also the parking is not free unless you book it through the hotel.

Fantastic place ! Enjoying our friends reunion! We were lucky to receive some amazing stickers and the service has been excellent! We highly recommend this place for friends couples and families ! Love Yourself !
The hotel rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were very welcoming and friendly as well.
Not much to fault with this hotel. Clean room, friendly staff and right where I needed to be. It's about 2km from City centre and a long walk or a taxi ride if you are not familiar with Birmingham. I went for the football, as the stadium is just up the road. If you are not a football fan check the dates as the bar area can get a little lively on match days. Really good experience all round.
Although the bed wasn't the comfiest, we did enjoy our stay here. The set up of the room was really cool and the bathroom is almost like a capsule with a stand in shower inside. The location is about a 5 min drive from the Bullring or a 30 minute walk. The staff were friendly and the hotel looked clean.
Reception staff we're very friendly. Nice breakfast variety. The room was lovely, the bed was really comfortable. Had a desk and chair so I could do some work. Internet was free (just have to register your email) that was a bonus!! The water and heating was nice and hot.
We spent 4 nights at the hotel and overall were very happy and satisfied with our experience. The room was clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable enough to stay in. An issue with the shower was immediately resolved. The bed could have been slightly more comfortable and the room a little cooler but those are quibbles. The staff were all very polite and welcoming. Basic rooms, lobby looks nice though. Strange lady at check in told me to check in after the published check in time (was given the room earlier eventually, which was appreciated), but she needs some proper hospitality training. Room was not clean, found bottle of soda under the bed and mucus on the curtain. Fan in bathroom is on 24/7, causing some unnecessary noise. Real budget hotel.
Great location near the Paddington station. Room is clean and facilities is good.
Hotel was clean as expected and also ample parking available for £5.20 for 24hrs. Overall nice stay.
Very reasonably priced for hotel accommodation of decent room size in Birmingham city centre area with good breakfast; their reservation system did not show that we had booked a family room, and hotel staff had sorted it out immediately during check-in.
Good experience it was cheap although good location and view
Reviewing from a secondary school perspective. We are a local secondary school who have taken pupils studying Hospitality and ASDAN to the hotel as work experience.

Excellent hotel, sleek by design, good quality rooms, and beautiful views. We will 100% be booking again as frequently in Birmingham. This is in my Top 2 hotels in the city based upon our experience on Friday.

This isn't the best hotel I've been to. First of all, the hallway reeks of some strange smell. The room was cramped when I was with 3 people, 2 kids. We had an excellent stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The staff were friendly and professional, and the facilities were great. Everything exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay again!
The one bedroom suite room is spacious for 2 to stay for few days. The kitchenette has the basic items and cutleries for simple cooking. Daily complimentary breakfast has all the basic breakfast items.
Location is very close to Birmingham New Street Station. Lots of shops and restaurant nearby and easy access to China town too.
Overall, a decent stay. The room was fine but a bit dated and could do with some updating. Breakfast was okay, and it was nice that they offered snacks during the evening social event. The laundry facilities were useful, although they could have been cleaner. Service was generally fine, staff were helpful when needed.
