This isn't the best hotel I've been to. First of all, the hallway reeks of some strange smell. The room was cramped when I was with 3 people, 2 kids. Speaking of kids, my 2 year old daughter's bed is a safety hazard as there are no bars to protect her from rolling off the bed. And the beds are NOT comfortable. Finally, on the bad things, the location is horrible! There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby and just to get to my kids' schools, we have to take 2 buses which end up making them late. However, there obviously are some good things here. Staff are friendly, they have a place for storing buggies/prams, and every morning, there's some fruits on the counter which allows you to take a snack if you are unable to eat breakfast. Overall, I would just say the rooms could be improved.

We had a terrible experience at this venue. The cups were never replenished, no one checked on us, and when we asked for help with the screen, no one came. To make matters worse, they served us gammon as part of a halal request—completely inappropriate. When we complained about the pork in the food, they promised to send someone, but no one ever showed up. We strongly advise against using this venue. It’s not halal-friendly, and the lack of care and respect is shocking.

I'm currently on a long-term contract delivering the new stations in Birmingham, Mosley station King's Heath station and pineapple road. I have the choice of many good quality hotels in Birmingham, but my preference will be the Edgbaston park hotel. The reason for this is, each time i arrive at the hotel reception I'm greeted with a very warm welcome. The staff never rush you. The Rooms I've stayed in are always very clean and comfortable. Room service cleaning everyday are excellent. Breakfast time staff once again always greet you with a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The food is to a high standard and there is lots to choose from. Plenty of seating areas to choose from as well. The bar lounge once again staff very friendly and always go above and beyond to arrange anything you require. There is also a table reservation service you can request just in case you have friends turning up to meet you for a social drink and meal. So these are just some of the reasons why my preference is to stay at the Edgbaston park hotel. I would personally recommend this to anybody wanting to have a enjoyable stay whilst visiting Birmingham. Tony Brown

Hotel is very dated and old, we had no shower curtain or lock on bathroom door. Manager is very rude, and not a very nice man. Felt like he was on a power trip when I asked a simple question as to why we couldn't have the room we were advised we could have. Didnt try to accommodate, just wanted more money to sort our problem out. Also had our washing done, lost some of my underwear and the rest came back in drips and drabs, wet and smelling over the course of 3 days! Avoid like the plague.

Do not use this hotel if you want them to host a large event for you. We wanted them to lay on an evening dinner for around 40 guests, but were told that because one of their key staff was going away that we had to have ALL the guests menu choices communicated to the hotel 2 weeks in advance, not 1 week - and there was absolutely no budging on that. They then cited their 28-day policy of not returning refunds, and so we have lost our £200 deposit. I believe it ought to be possible in this day and age to plan a evening of food with a week's notice, to show some flexibility and also to offer a refund of a deposit when this conversation (that surfaced all these issues) was all had 2 weeks before the event. I have little satisfaction in posting this 1-star review, which will cost this hotel far, far more than the £200 they kept, because we could have both won with a little customer service and negotiation. :(

Great location, close to Birmingham centre and easy to find and reach via public transport. The family room in the west wing was spotless, almost brand new! The staff were welcoming and friendly enough but didn't trust us with food in our rooms and denied us cutlery and plates. Made us feel like boarding kids. The cooked breakfast was small, but the cereal/pastries and fruit were plentiful and fresh. A massive plus was the fresh coffee at breakfast! All in all, a good stay!

The appearance of the place was nice initially. The check in was ok. The breakfast is far from nice. It's being served buy some ladies that they're not even looking at you. They ask what do you want to eat like you've done them something wrong.

Very unprofessional. Very cold. No one smiles. Maybe their being paid bad for a job they hate because definitely that's the feeling I am getting.

Plate is brought on your table, no eye contact, no question asked.
I ordered just the beans and mushrooms from the full English breakfast because I am eating vegan. It came in a very small portion, not even thinking to compensate for the bacon, sausages, eggs etc. that I do not eat.

On arrival the staff were very professional and welcoming even when dealing with other customers, you could see it was the same treatment. When in the room it was very clean and well put together, there were even sanitary bags in the bathroom and the kettle was a Russell Hobbs not just a cheap standard one.
At one point I called the reception because my room felt a little cold, they answered straight away and said they would sort it. To my surprise about 20mins later someone knocked on the door with a heater fan.
The children didn't want to leave and I can't wait to book again. The grounds are lovely and due to the snow on our departure it looked like a wonderland.

I have been to many TGI Fridays around the UK but this one by far was the best. The food was absolutely outstanding and even tho it was extremely busy the night we went we didn't have long to wait to be served and the food arrived very quickly and hot I wish I lived closer as this truly was a great experience.

The Fridays that started it all in the UK, way back in 1986. The restaurant is incredibly impressive, with a gracious design and interesting clutter on the walls. It really gives you the wow factor when you walk in. The bar is massive and is lovely to sit around and enjoy a drink. The service is great, and as usual the food and drink is brilliant. Highly recommend.

The restaurant setting and staff make this a four star review.

The restaurant is tiered, with diner-style tables going up to a higher point at one end of the (capacious) room.

The staff were fantastic and friendly and they ran an efficient operation.

While there is a great selection of food (including allergy-free offerings), and it was properly served, I felt it was good overall but not great. This view is informed by the newer (sometimes more specialised) American-style restaurants in the area and the general elevation of the Birmingham foodie scene in general.

Have been here several times good American food and good for groups good place to do lunch meeting with easy parking and friendly staff

Friendly service, comfy, cosy setting, fun atmosphere. I didn't enjoy my food but apparently the chicken fajitas were decent.
Corn on cob was overcooked (over microwaved?!), blue cheese sauce was appalling (not freshly made, too strong etc), chicken wings tasted a bit artificial. Basically the food isn't fresh or home-made. Hesitated between a 3 and 4!
