The Hostel is very nice, clean and organised, the staff is super nice and helpful.
Well located, good transportation nearby and good connections.
The food at the Hostel is nice as well, conditions offered are good, good value for money...
The only negative aspect is that the internet is horrible, but apart from that, the experience at the Hostel was a very good experience.

We booked a private room, it was very comfortable and allowed us a good night's sleep. Definitely worth booking here rather than a big brand hotel as you get essentially the same product but your supporting a better initiative.
I will say two slight cons: having never booked with YHA before the checking in process was an absolute slog, ID for each guest, sign physical check in documents, input your reg, go back out to car park to pay for parking, pay for breakfast, get asked multiple questions which took about 10-15 minutes in total when we just wanted to go to our room as we were shattered. The location is also not central so it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the city centre walking.

However: breakfast was lovely (the butter is with the milk at the front for those who may be confused like I was) and I liked that it was communal, shout out to the school children who were so so well behaved during our stay! Lovely to see that :), the room was small but comfy and had everything we needed, the ensuite was definitely a hostel ensuite but clean and functional. I also loved hearing the water rushing outside.

In a great location with the city centre on your doorstop. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest and the water from the shower head was inconsistent and quit rough but it did the job. We were also told we had to “rent” towels for a price which felt a little unhygienic. We went down to the bar at one point and sat for about 15 mins waiting to be served despite two members of staff being there.
If you’re planning on a good nights sleep I’d maybe look somewhere else because the walls are paper thin and there is a live construction site outside (February, 2026). It did the job and we had a nice time but unsure if I would book again.

I was solo from Australia staying for holiday and new year period and had a great time, staff were lovely, coffee good, drinks maybe slightly expensive, but worth it as the people were nice enough. Lobby and sitting space was nice and clean and cozy and warm, candles lit for aroma, reasonable storage in room and good layout. Exactly what's needed for a short term stay abroad. Very happy with my stay. Kitchen facilities was good enough.

The hostel has an excellent location. It's easy to catch a bus to the city center from just outside, and it's also very close to the nearby museum. Highly recommended.

Oops, I accidentally double-booked on different platforms. I tried to discuss it, but they wouldn't issue a refund.

It was serviceable but a bit over priced for what you get. Managed to get a private room to myself. It was big and had ample space for luggage. It even had a strong fan inside. Plug sockets were conveniently located above the bed.
What was most surprising was that the bathroom didn’t even have a floor mat for the shower. No cheap body wash either. I get that it’s a hostel but surely a floor mat would be decent so you don’t slip and crack your head after your shower. It’s 2025. Hostel standards should be better. Look at Japan for instance

Excellent! The place is centrally located which is near Manchester Oxford Station and Deansgate and Manchester Victoria Station.

I had the delicious and spicy chicken vindaloo and the massive garlic naan the was almost two feet tall! The food and staff were both awesome. Well worth the wait for a table.

Have been on many occasions, service is always perfect. Waiters approach you as your wine is almost empty to get you a refill but never obtrusive. Food is simply amazing value for money

Pretty good curry. Loved the big naans. Rice wasn't great though. Large menu with lots of choice. Too dark and felt quite cramped, even though it is a large space.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years. The food is always nice , I was never disappointed and it is a good price. Welcoming and prompt, a good menu with the hallmark 'family nans' -  The restaurant itself is quite noisy and you feel like everyone is rushing around there but the quality of food totally compensates it. Recommend this restaurant for a traditional tasty curry. Its always busy so a good atmosphere. I highly recommend it especially for catching up with friends.

Enjoyable but overjoyed. Food was delivered quickly and service could not be faulted. Great atmosphere for all but food was only average which was a bit disappointing after all the hype. The mains were quite plain and tasteless especially compared to the starters.

I would recommend it however as was an enjoyable night overall. Set menu is probably worth avoiding however. Go off normal menu instead and food might not be so poor. I spotted some really good looking meals on other tables although can't comment on the taste. I think the set menu might suffer from the made at scale syndrome however.
In fairness we were in a party of 20 and went for the set meal for ease. All of us were un impressed by the main meals however whereas the starters were great.

The food and drinks in this place are good though the drinks are expensive. Nice to sit outside in summer and they have heaters outside for when it gets colder. It's a bit fancy, people seem to dress up and it gets very busy.

This is the bar to visit in summer, warm sunny days by the canal at Dukes.

The foods nice and the beers cold, reasonable parking too.
22.10.2017 Tom
Great bar reasonable prices for drinks. Very Friendly staff this is definitely worth a visit. Live music on weekends in the afternoon (family friendly) I would definitely recommend this bar if your in the castlefield area one of the best. Also brilliant outside seating for in the summer months. Nothing to fault here.
14.09.2017 David
Popular wine bar/ food venue. Right next to the lock gates of a canal. Nice to sit outside on those very rare days when its warm enough to do so! Failing that option they do have lots of indoor seating.
Meals slightly overpriced. But nice clientele.
06.09.2017 Michael
Not the place it used to be. Out for a quick meal as parking is convenient. Ordered fish & chips. The chips looked and tasted as if they had been cooked the week before and the fish was inedible. You'd get better food at a service station. Also the glasses which the drinks were served in were filthy. They clearly have cleanliness and food hygiene issues and I'd strongly advise anyone to eat elsewhere and spare themselves the experience.
