Grassmarket hotel, Edinburgh1 / 30

Edinburgh, 94-96 Grassmarket (in the centre) 🧭 Map
We loved the location of this hotel! It’s walking distance from everything and has some nice coffee shops and restaurants in the area! The rooms was tiny but clean. Excuse my lack of pictures. We didn’t have any food here but it’s an option as they have good deals with the restaurant linked downstairs. TOP TIP- there’s no parking here but the hotel across the road offers parking at a fee. ...
Nice hotel apart from being on the third floor, and the lift only went to the first floor. Had two flight of stairs with a heavy suitcase. So not practical for a disabled or older person.
One of the coziest and warmest hotel in old town of Edinburgh with the cutest small pub! Highly recommended.
Location of this place can’t be largely ignored at all. Just at the bottom of the stretch of Harry Potter restaurant! And just at the base of Edinburgh castle too. Amazing service
The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring the Old Town. The room was very clean, a little noisy at night, you are above a pub. (The hotel do provide ear plugs!) Room size was cozy but with everything we needed. Staff were great. Breakfast next door was yummy!. Will see definitely be back.
The room was small but functional, very convenient because it's super central. Breakfast was limited to a buffet, but you could choose from a selection of dishes offered by the pub.

This is an old-established hotel, excellent location and friendly staff. However, it does show signs of age. There was a very strong smell and mildew / damp in the hallway by the lifts on our bedroom floor, which wasn't good. The room and facilities were perfectly ok, but everything could do with a refresh.
Lovely comfortable hotel. Our bed and the room was large and well fitted out. Bottle water expensive at £4. Looked after us extremely well as both disabled. Nothing was too much trouble. Cooked Breakfast selection first class. Perfect Poached eggs. Continental looked fresh and enticing. Will return.
Hotel room was fantastic. Huge bed shower and bath. Lovely clean and warm. Breakfast really good. Full scottish breakfast was welcome to set you up for yhe day. Tried the restaurant on one evening. Standard menu but cooked well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Haggis bon bons a tasty treat. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 across the board was that we didn't get daily refills on the...
This was a very good value for the location, parking, breakfast, dog friendliness. It's very hard to find hotels with private parking in the centre of the city. It can be a bit full depending on the season, but we always found a space the days we stayed. The location is great, you just walk to the places around the castle. Very good breakfast, including cooked to order in addition to the buffet. The...
Good comfortable room with good shower. Had car parking.
Had a lovely stay here. Comfy bed, tasty breakfasts and helpful staff. On the 23 bus route which took us all over the city and to the Botanical Gardens. Walked home over the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links a few times from the city centre. Hotel located in nice area. Will be back.

Excellent location super clean well designed apartment
We stayed there for one night. The building is actually a student dormitory used by the university and it was under construction. Room was clean however felt a bit cramped. Breakfast was okay, didn’t have various options.
Great apartment in a great location! Has a lack of plug sockets and mirrors but otherwise all ok!
1b1b apartment at very great location near royal mile and train station. Other floors are for U of Edinburgh students. Room is clean and the kitchen tools are provided. Check in and check out are very smooth.
The room is comfortable. We spent a pleasant night. Adefemi is so nice.

Lovely, traditional hotel space with terrific historic memorabilia. Beautiful, spacious room with excellent ensuite with deep tub!!!
It’s a nice, historic property but rooms could use some updating. Staff were very friendly. Not a great location if your trip centers around Old Town and the Royal Mile. It’s a good value property if you don’t mind walking 15 min. to where the action is.
Cool place. Plenty of room. Nice restaurant. Pleasant helpful staff. Lots to do in walking distance. One of the nicest places for the money that we have stayed in the UK.
We were surprised to learn our room was in an annex to the hotel and required a walk down spiral concrete staircase to a basement with an outside entrance. We upgraded to a more expensive room in the hotel.
The room was very good - up to date, clean, good location, and nice accommodations. The walls are thin and we heard our neighboring rooms going in and out - slamming doors from 9pm to 4 am... disrupted a lot of sleep.
The location is not so good. The environment is good. The room is big. The price/performance ratio is average.

Excellent stay staff very helpful . Rooms lovely Few issues in restaurant which were solved quickly . Evening meal very good steaks cooked to perfection. Went for full breakfast which was perfect . Cooked to order and staff great Hotel only a £8 uber from city centre High recommend
My Mum and I stayed here for 2 nights and after reading some negative reviews just before arriving, I felt anxious about our stay. I needn’t of worried. The staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful, as were everyone we came across in Edinburgh. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. We didn’t eat at the beefeater attached...
location great. noisey due to traffic and humming noise from bathroom even when everything off. scum/bacteria on bath overflow unfortunatly didn't notice until was in the bath. paid far too much for this and offered no compensation...directed to go online. no.e.mail given to make complaint. will not return there.
We stayed for 4 nights while exploring Edinburgh and Portobello so just needed a cheap and cheerful base to rest our heads and that's exactly what we got. Location was ideal with a major bus route to the city right outside and walkable into Portobello and Holyrood Park. The room was spacious and clean, staff were helpful and the breakfast was good quality and great value. I've given 4 stars instead...
Had to stay in Edinburgh last minute due to a family member in hospital,my room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed The staff were very kind and helpful The breakfast staff were also lovely and I really enjoyed my perfect soft boiled eggs I had several meals in the evening and I honestly had quite low expectations but was surprisingly good, excellent steak and very good value It...
All the usual good things about Premier Inn, where you know what you will get. A good sized and well set up room with a very comfortable bed. The location is good, with easy public transport in to Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they lose a star because despite paying over £100 a night room only, they then want to charge for parking. That's just irritating and unecessary

It was great to stay at the Ceilidh Donia! The owners are always ready to help, its located in a quiet neighbourhood and the bus takes you within 20 min to the old town :) i would recommend
Friendly staff, clean and cozy room And a good breakfast!
The staff and the food were both exceptional. It is a beautiful, quiet hotel that is very personal and cozy. It is a ways from city center but is close to a bus stop that will get you anywhere you want in the city.

Wow sumptuous sexy hardly little beautiful suites well should i say apartments Extremely cosy setting right next to the castle and opposite the fun illusion attraction that you also must try we were booked in for two nights but on
Very convenient location for many tourist spots in Edinburgh. Exclusive with only a few suites, secure entrance. Each suite is uniquely decorated with original artwork, tapestries, and wood floors. The bedroom of The Armory suite was quite, tucked between rooftops. The restaurant for breakfast was quite and delicious food. All the staff we encountered was polite, professional, knowledgeable and...
We had a wonderful stay in the Rectory suite. There were added complimentary items such as fruit, water, truffles, crisps,Nespresso machine with pods, lots of expensive toiletries and because we booked direct a bottle of champagne. The turn down service was a lovely touch and much appreciated as there were so many cushions and blankets on the bed and as the suite is so big lots of blinds to close!...
Outstanding location staff food & experience…Especially thank you to Mackenzie for your attentive service & Cameron for checking our service
The room is everything you think it’s going to be from the photos and more. The breakfast hamper delivery and set up is exquisite. Theservice is beyond anything I’ve received in other places. It was a nice and quiet place to stay. There was quick response to customers' request. Good customer service. There was easy access to transportation to the city centre from there. A strategic location too. But food is not part of their provision. I stayed for just one night and have no regrets. I enjoyed my stay there.
No change of towels given. No cleaning of room for 2 days. Parking spot full. Room was spacious for 2 people and the location was not that far off from the city center
Located close to main Edinburgh City, with ~20 mins bus ride. Good information was provided beforehand on what needed doing when arriving late to the venue and instructions were easy to follow. The room size was decent.
Hotel was clean,we only stayed one night was in a good location would stay again
Had no water supply during my stay, was given an emergency room to for all of the hotel to use as they advised it was an issue with cold water supply in rooms 8-25. It was average. We were staying for 3 nights, they came to clean once. The wifi was awful, my phone couldn't stay on it for one minute, so i just used mobile data. The beds, the bathroom was great, the mugs were dirty. The receptionist was rarely in his place, but we didn't need to each for any help so I don't know that he would have been available for us if we faced any problem.

The hotel's environment and location are good, but Ctrip listed two bedrooms, while upon arrival there was only one. There was a sofa bed in the living room. A stunning room! This century-old hotel maintains typical British architectural features, including the interior decor and especially the bathrooms. Staying here felt like stepping into the life of a wealthy local, haha. The room was incredibly spacious, almost too spacious, and the view from the window was beautiful. First of all, the location was excellent, and it was quiet, which was nice. The room was very spacious, and the staff were friendly. The antique atmosphere was also interesting, different from typical hotels. The lack of an on-site restaurant was a bit inconvenient, but other than that, I was very satisfied!

Room was lovely but the noise outside was loud. Sleep wise not to good very noisey lift. Staff was amazing, breakfast was 100% .
The bed was too high off the ground. Honestly, it meant if you sat on the edge of the bed your legs were dangling. The bed had a gap at the back of it between the head of the bed and the wall. The pillows slipped into the gap. The pillows themselves were not firm enough. Both these things meant a restless nights sleep for sure. The room itself was nicely enough equipped and decorated. Close to the station, the room is clean, tidy and spacious!
I booked a king-size bed room and requested a quiet and non-smoking room. Due to language problems, the check-in was very considerate. The front desk could store my luggage. Location wise this place is great it’s on the royal mile and close to the train station, plenty of pubs, eateries and the castle itself. Came in, had a wee bevvy. Quite a nice place as I was with my Father who enjoys the finer things, definitely tickled his fancy. We had an amazing experience with a member of staff, and whose name I believe was Ishbell, so lovely and full of joy, really made our experience so much better due to her upbeat personality.
