The Charlie Hotel was magical, the Sasha Suite we stayed in was a one bedroom with beautiful historic charm throughout. The suite was spotless and had all the amenities, full kitchen, small living room with its own TV, super comfortable bed and linens. Love the private secure onsite self parking, so much better than hotels with valet. Price was reasonable, service was great so pleasant and professional! Beautiful rooftop deck with seating. Definitely our go to for future visits to LA!

The Charlie has it all, luxurious suites befitting of hollywood royalty, like its namesake, personable and professional estate caretakers and administrators.

To be sure, the expertly provisioned attention to finer details like fresh roses and “hard to get” reservations, from proficient, and well connected hands.

Pros: Room was spotless and the grounds were beautiful. This place allows you to live like a local and not a tourist. With that, cons: The building was old and I could hear a lot of noise from the room below.

The Charlie gets better every time we visit. Quiet spacious room with a garden right outside our door. Quiet location but convenient to everything and a friendly staff.

Everything about The Charlie is charming and upscale. Not an easy combination but they nailed it. They didn't skimp on the important things like sheets and pillows, a true sign they know what they're doing

We stayed at the Clark suite at the Charlie for 3 days during a long layover in LA. They were very accommodating and allowed us to leave our luggage and car before checkin and after checkout, which was super helpful. Beautiful property and very comfortable accomodations. We were working remotely while we were there and there was plenty of room for us both to be on video calls. Great neighborhood, the Gelsons grocery was a quick 0.5 mile walk, and lots of restaurants nearby. First of all was a favorite. Would definitely stay again!

Very bad experience. Also, read through the reviews, you will notice a trend; super rude service, but good food. Why is this tolerated by management?
We booked in advance as two parties because we did not want a set menu (if you have 8 people you must have a set menu) and we didn’t mind sitting at 2 tables. Some people had been there before so they requested the booths at the front for us. It was noted in the reservations. We went at 545 on a Wednesday so we didn’t think this would be hard. We walked in after a special day (people flew in from NYC and drove up from Newport Beach) of wedding dress shopping and the restaurant was empty. When seating us, they refused to sit us in the same room because we “should have had a set menu at our size party”. I get that, but we were at two separate tables, we figured since the restaurant was open, why not seat us next to each other? They literally refused and were SO RUDE and petty and forced us to sit in separate rooms, punishing us like 5 year olds. Also they said they had no note saying we requested the booths, no apology. Seriously??? You’re in hospitality, that is crazy to me. If the restaurant was full I’d understand, but these people need to get over their weird power trips.
The server wasn’t much better. So pretentious when we asked for mushrooms to be added to a pasta. Scoffed at us and said “we can’t do that; we do not do that” a few times. Again, I get that restaurants sometimes don’t do substitutions or additions; there is a polite way to say that.
The nail in the coffin was they doubled 3 items we ordered so our bill was way higher than it should have been. We almost didn’t notice, but one person thought it seemed high. If you’d seen the menu prices you know adding three more is significant. Again, no apologies. I would love to go back because the food was really good, but honestly can’t see myself supporting a place where people act this way.

This place is the bomb for true gourmet vegan food! Before of the vegan imposters! The chef used to be Oprah's personal chef!

The impossible burger is the #1 vegan burger out and this place serves it, in gourmet fashion.

Try the crab cakes, chicken and waffles, barbequed lentil salad and chocolate shake for sure fire delight! This place place may become your favorite place for taste bud orgasms! Yup!

It's a delightful, fancy, very exciting dining place. Vegetarian or meat eater, you have to come here to try it; order 3-5 different items and be surprised and wowed by the unique, delicious experience. ?

As a card carrying carnivore....this place is nothing short of amazing. I had the burger which is one of the best burgers in Los Angeles (albeit a bit on the small side). The burger along with the meatball sub will make you question if veganism can actually be a worthy lifestyle. I also love the full bar with 'tenders that can actually make great drinks. I can't recommend this place enough for diners of every sort.
