Hotel des Arts is only 2 Star but it is quite stylish, clean and reasonably priced. The location is very good and central, importantly close to the Cafe de la Press where even a spoiled European can find the Cappuccino and specifically the Croissants very good.

Over delivers for the price. The mobile check in with no front desk is awesome. Sweet bar near by. Not loud. Just good drinks. Stay with confidence.

The room was cold and the thermostat under a lock box. Was in the ADA rooms and half the bathroom flooded when I took a shower - nothing to guide the water to the drain. A pond around the toilet until I 'swept' the water to the drain.

It was great, although self check-in required assistance. Floors are slanted, elevator is old and slow, staff is polite. It's quirky and somewhat inconvenient, like being on vacation in a charming town without too many amenities. Fantastic location.

The hotel is on a very good location. Building is dated and shows signs of its age. Place is kept clean by the friendly staff. There’s not much by way of amenities but it serves well to sleep in after a full day of walking. Breakfast is free but continental and the selection is very limited. Not bad to start with. It’s free. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are looking for a place located in the Union Square area. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a great location. Close to various public transportation stops, shops, and restaurants. The hotel is located really close to Chinatown.

This is the best small hotel in Union Square. It's affordable, the rooms are very nice—especially the bathrooms—and it's a friendly and cozy environment. Staff is super nice too. Just don't expect a bar or a social scene or a pool or fancy amenities. You get a great room though!

Good hotel, just not for me. No A/C, and not many options for breakfast compared to other hotels with similar price.

Such a cute place! Everything was very clean and service was great. The wine/snacks complimentary happy hour every evening was such a lovely addition to our stay! (Francisco is absolutely wonderful!) location is safe and great for walking to many locations. We enjoyed our time here.

This is an old beautiful hotel. You do go down a set of stairs to the breakfast area.Quite a variety of buffet foods. Lots of tables to sit at and separate rooms with fireplaces. Nice ambiance. We came to SF to celebrate our 20th anniversary in the city where we met 26 years ago. We chose this place for its unique atmosphere and convenient location. We loved everything about our stay. The staff were friendly, the room was eclectic and clean. You can’t beat the location. We will definitely be back for our next visit.

Coffee tastes weird and there isn't much to eat other than cereal and bananas...

Not a 4 star hotel. But for the price, it was conveniently located. Rooms were clean and bigger than the one i had at the sir Francis Drake. Staff was friendly. And there is a parking garage RIGHT next door.

Civic Center Motor Inn

There is no tea or tea making facilities. Be great if they took that off their website (tea needs boiling water, not coffee maker hot water). Room smelled a little like... dog? or damp? But it was clean and comfy.

A good value. Close to most major transportation and particularly convenient for quick access to expressway. Inexpensive--most nights all included can be gotten for $100 or less. Quieter than most in the area. Feels safer than nearby inexpensive hotels. Security fence makes parking lot feel a lot safer.

The inn's location and price point make it an ideal home base for exploring the San Francisco city/tourism core. Rooms could be cleaner (we saw a cockroach crawling around on the carpet floor into behind the fridge). Door lock malfunctioned, but when asked they attended to it rather quickly. They replaced it. That's good. When asked, service was provided. That's good. Contrary to what was portrayed...

Didn't like the day service lady's attitude about paper receipts and having to wait 3 business days for my deposit to go back into my account. Despite that; this is one of the better decent price places to stay in San Francisco. I would still recommend!

This hotel is always featured on the big name hotel booking sites and typically the rooms can get down to 50% of the original price Great for a cheap stay with moderate amenities but there are more exciting places in better locations in San Francisco. Great clean rooms at an affordable price! Staff was incredibly kind and friendly. Also left my airpods after the stay and they held it for me at the location so I could pick it up. 10/10 would recommend.

Nice, well-maintained hotel Nice quaint hotel in the Civic Center area of San Francisco. Well maintained and charming. Older building, but renovated recently so all amenities are in good condition. Location is good, which is always a wild card in SF from block to block.

Our room was hot and stuffy so we had to open the window which let in the noise from the outside. The hotel is located a couple blocks from the shops and restaurants at Hayes Valley which was nice. It was very walkable from the BART civic center station.

The rooms were nice and the hotel has i nice atmosphere. In one of the rooms there was an invasion by hundreds of ants that were everywhere including the bed. And the otherwise nice staff apologized but took no action.

Just had a lovely one-night stay at the Parker Guest House in San Francisco, conveniently located just one block from Dolores Park. The location is great if you are visiting this area of SF and the Inn is a wonderful place all around.
