Inn At The Opera in San Francisco

Our stay actually started with a mistake...our mistake. We accidentally booked our reservation for the wrong day and arrived an entire day early during one of the busiest weekends of the year. Jessica at the front desk was absolutely amazing. She somehow rearranged everything so we could stay in the same room for our entire visit without having to pack up and move halfway through the weekend. It did cost a little more per night, but with each of us traveling with two large suitcases full of Pride outfits and gear, it was worth every penny. Jessica truly saved our weekend before it even started.

That incredible hospitality continued throughout our stay. Every member of the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and we loved how the hotel embraced Pride Weekend. The lobby was beautifully decorated in colorful Pride décor, complete with a refreshment station stocked with bottled water, sodas, energy drinks, Liquid I.V. packets, and snacks—a thoughtful touch for guests who had been out celebrating all day (and recovering the next morning!).

The hotel itself feels like someone picked up a charming boutique hotel from London and placed it in the heart of San Francisco. Located directly across from Civic Center, it made walking to the Pride Parade and weekend festivities incredibly easy. Starbucks is only a couple of blocks away, and the public parking garage immediately next door made bringing a car much more convenient than we expected.

By Sunday evening, we were completely exhausted and decided to eat at the hotel's restaurant, Dingles Public House, instead of venturing back out. What a fantastic decision. We started with the Scotch Egg, followed by the Piggy Pie, paired with expertly crafted, perfectly balanced cocktails. The food felt like something you'd find at an authentic English pub, elevated with beautiful presentation. It's easy to see why the restaurant is popular, so I'd recommend making reservations in advance.

Our room was on the seventh (top) floor at the end of the hallway. It was one of the smaller rooms, but considering Jessica rescued our reservation, we were simply grateful to have one room for the entire stay. We also appreciated having a mini refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, and silverware for two, making it feel more like a small apartment than a hotel room. There wasn't air conditioning in our room, but opening both windows and running the ceiling fan kept everything comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, although it felt a bit closer to a full-size bed than the advertised queen.

A few things to know before booking: there isn't a pool or fitness center, and the elevator is quite small (fits about four people) and gets busy during the morning and evening rush. Thankfully, luggage carts are available, which made moving all of our bags much easier.

The biggest compliment I can give The Inn at the Opera is this: we had originally planned to stay somewhere else when we return for Folsom Street Fair, but after this experience, we canceled those reservations and immediately booked another stay here instead.

Outstanding hospitality, an unbeatable location, thoughtful staff who genuinely care about their guests, and one of the most charming boutique hotel experiences we've had in San Francisco. We can't wait to come back.

Outstanding experience. Excellent service, cute resort hotel, nice rooms, great location. My wife dropped her cash (hundreds of dollars) in the elevator and the staff returned the small purse to the front desk and found us - how many businesses are this trustworthy nowadays? Highly recommend and we will return. Thank you!

Wow, what a great place to stay! Stayed here during LGBT pride weekend and the hotel did not disappoint. We felt like family coming home for the holidays. The hotel staff were friendly and the amenities were fabulous. LGBT memorabilia and decorations were available, for free, to hotel guests. Snacks were placed out every night for pride celebration. The location is great for getting around and near alot of nice places to eat. The hotel is clean and has personal touches that go above and beyond and make you feel like you are home. I found the place where I will be staying from now on when in SF

The Inn at the Opera is adorable and they even name the rooms based on the ballet, it's really cute. The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. I have chronic pain issues but still found the bed and pillows very comfortable. The furniture inside my room was really nice and well-maintained and cute and it all matched. The mirror in the bathroom even had built in lights for those who do makeup. I felt safe going in and out of the hotel by myself and the elevator was in good working order. Really great experience!

Nice quaint hotel in the Civic Center area of San Francisco. Well maintained and charming. Older building, but renovated recently so all amenities are in good condition. Location is good, which is always a wild card in SF from block to block.

Everything was close by and it was very nice pleasant stay
