City style hotel, dated in a not so good location

The value for money is quite good, and the location is excellent. Right across the street, there's a big supermarket and Heytea. However, upon arrival, there's a mandatory $39 daily destination fee. Parking is $91 per night, but there's an option diagonally across the street for $44 a night.

Stay for 5 nights in this hotel. Room was neat & big with 2 queen size bed. Location was fantastic, very convention to walk around all the popular locations. Breakfast was very good and impressive. Not much service provided, no drinking water provided, no boiling kettle. Salt & pepper was filled the other way around.

The room was tiny, and the elevator was quite old-fashioned – it would always jolt before it started moving. Parking was also really expensive at $60 per night. On the plus side, it's very close to Fisherman's Wharf, just a 5-minute walk. It was also a short drive to both the Golden Gate Bridge and Lombard Street. However, the breakfast options weren't really to a Chinese palate's liking.

Rooms are standard Marriott level of cleanliness and modern aesthetic, but the doors to the bathrooms are heavy doors that automatically close loudly. The noise isolation between rooms isn't great either. We were woken up every 30-50 min from doors closing in adjacent rooms. I usually stay at the Marriott Marquis, and I don't think I'll be staying at the Union Square location again.

It feels like an old building that's been renovated. The room was a bit dark. The location is excellent though, right outside there's a popular photo spot with lots of people taking pictures. Chinatown is just a 10-15 minute walk away, where you can find most of the good food.

Solid tourist hotel for a good price! We stayed over New Year's and chose a top floor courtyard room to avoid noise and got perfect sleep after a long night. Not my first time at this vintage hotel, but stayed at a medium size room this time. They've done a fair job of updating the rooms, nothing too fancy. The closet and drawer spaces are limited, and the table is tiny. But I love the sturdy designer chair and that the windows actually tilt open for fresh pacific night air. Bed is great, bring your USB charger though if you have several devices.

Very conveniently located 3 mins walk from Powell BART and Trader's Joe right at basement of building. Amenities were new and modern. Staff were friendly and helpful.Safe for solo travellers.

This hotel must have been recently renovated as the facilities are brand new. The room's lighting, music, temperature, and curtains can all be controlled via an iPad. The hotel is also very close to the subway station and the starting point of the cable car.

My favorite CitizenM hotel, the experience was as great as always. The downtown area is right downstairs, and even though it's a bit messy, I never felt unsafe. It's also very close to the tram station. Just a heads up, the 'dangerous' tenderloin district isn't too far from here.

I usually stay at this hotel almost every time I'm in the area. The location is superb! I also really like the concept of Citizen M, especially the bathroom and the lighting controls. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.
