While the rooms are praised for cleanliness and comfort, some guests have noted the bathroom doors close loudly and noise insulation between rooms could be improved. The hotel accepts service animals but does not allow pets. A daily destination fee of $30 applies, which can be used as credit toward food and beverage, although some guests find this charge steep. Reviews
We were woken up every 30-50 min from doors closing in adjacent rooms.
I usually stay at the Marriott Marquis, and I don't think I'll be staying at the Union Square location again.
the view is amazing, and the location is pretty nice as you can walk around to most attractions.
lobby receiptionists were really friendly and helpful, and I was really satisfied.
now the negative side: breakfast was completely disgusting. I didn't know one could mess up a simple thing as eggs..
it was just plain 4 hot platters buffet, with the scrambled eggs completely watery, store-bought drinks, and terrible coffee. I don't think I've ever ate such a terrible breakfast anywhere in the world. and the price was absurd - 30$ before taxes and tip!
other then that - there are protests outside the lobby who are shouting, screaming and drumming from early morning to late evening. fortunately I couldn't hear anything from the room or from the lobby, but when you step outside - your eardrums explode. in any sane country those people would have been asked to move to the other side of the street, but in America - it seems to be fine to hurt tourists eardrums. I would expect the hotel to put more effort to stop this harassment.
Noise is on another level. They have drums, mega phones and speakers with no sense of rhythm (gotta hand it to them, it’s obnoxiously effective). 7am-10pm without a break! Echos throughout the hotel.
They refunded me immediately because they know it’s absurd to ask someone to pay to stay there with that level of non stop noise. They had no interest in switching me to another Marriott property or to relocate me to another property in the area. Did not offer me ground transport either.
Do yourself a favor, book far away from a Marriott.
Staff chose to pretend they were sorry while yelling over drums from outside. You all know and should inform people when making reservations or just after.

Wow. Never will go to daily grill again. Spent 300 first night in town. I have never written a review but because it popped up on my phone this is the first and it had to be bad. Daily grill is scratched from my list.
