Reviews
Negative: not gonna lie it may be nice being close to the beach but if it’s for vaca save up your money and go somewhere else. I don’t normally complain but we’re a young couple from far away and it’s genuinely really creepy. At first it just kind of seemed like a run down place but after a bit we realized it’s just not take care of at all. The bathroom wasn’t swept. Everything is stained, i mean the curtains, the sheets, even the chairs looked gross. We didn’t dare touch anything. The sheets made us really itchy. I did check for bed bugs and didn’t see any so that’s a win! The walls are super thin so we did hear people having arguments outside and came back to police at the building after going to dinner. Some of our families doors wouldn’t lock. We asked them to change our sheets and when we came back they were the same sheets just re tucked in. The final straw was we heard a rat in our walls at night, and it was so loud we thought someone was in our room. It was honestly scary, a funny bad vacation story that we won’t forget but hopefully can save others from!
But they were close to the beach. That's the only positive review I will leave
Deborah- Is Horrible Manager -Stay Away from this Place….
Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Winterset was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The place feels neglected, outdated, and poorly managed, as if basic upkeep and guest experience are afterthoughts. Nothing looks like it’s been refreshed in years, and the overall atmosphere is unwelcoming and depressing.
Customer service is easily the worst part—unprofessional, dismissive, and slow to respond. Any concerns are met with attitude instead of solutions, making you feel like you’re the inconvenience for expecting basic standards.
Cleanliness is questionable at best, and the noise levels make it impossible to relax. For the price and the Fort Lauderdale location, this place falls painfully short. There are far better options nearby that actually value their guests.
I would not recommend Winterset to anyone. One stay was more than enough.
It was small and quiet, not the usual chain hotel, and it had 3 pools and a hot tub. There were several lounge areas around the property, places to enjoy the sun and just relax.
And the staff was friendly and helpful, I arrived about an hour earlier than check-in and they were accommodating.
I will definitely use this hotel every time I go to Fort Lauderdale
