Hotel Grand Stark, Portland1 / 13
8.2
Portland, 509 Southeast Grand Avenue (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Check in was great, the food and drinks were excellent. The room wasnt fully cleaned, hair in bathroom drain and bathroom not very clean. Counter was dirty as well, but everything else was fine. They charged me from somethibg from the mini bar yet I didnt take anything. I had snacks, drinks and food so the mini bar/ snax were unnecessary. I still really like the hotel and would try it one more time...
The hotel was very nice. The only complaits was no cold water, noisy and not very let friendly on the outside.
It was a nice place to stay, I loved the fact it looked like a horror movie down the hallways
The Hotel Grand Stark is very new and spacious. A very well designed remodel done in 2021 . Will stay again !!
The room was only average. It had a very odd layout, but was comfortable enough. The platform bed was low and a little soft. The heat pump head unit pumped out air that was not great--rather like a sewer. (I can only imagine it might be affected by all of the rain.) The staff was fantastic--friendly, welcoming, and eager to help.. Five stars for them.
Room was decorated very quaint and cute. Bed was very comfortable but walls were paper thin and housekeeping was vacuuming in the hallway bright and early. Did not understand the point of a mini fridge slammed full of items to purchase rather than having some space to store some of our things to stay cold. The cold water on our faucet did not work and upon notifying staff was told to come down to get...

We had a great day and everything we did was within walking distance or quick Uber away. The staff was always friendly and helpful with recommendations The Photo Booth is a nice touch and I had a blast reading through secret messages in the loft library. We are definitely coming back!
Beautiful note that has a coffee shot next door. The room was very homey. Loved everything about it.
We’re old couple. We preferred bright rooms. The place is for hip and youngsters. The place is nit suitable for us
The Clyde is such a gem!! The location is ideal for walking and taking in much of Portland's downtown. It's just up the street from Powell's and the Pearl, with lots of fantastic restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. With quick and easy access to public transit, it was a great connection point for getting anywhere in the city. You can tell immediately that the Clyde is rich with history...
Kasa staff were super great and helpful. The hotel lobby was very festive and had a cool photobooth. The king suite had its own bathroom (& clawfoot tub!) and a working record player with a curated selection of old & new records. The bed was super comfortable and soft. I would recommend bringing an eye mask if you are sensitive to light as some of the manual lift blinds were tricky to close all the...
This hotel is in a perfect location downtown. The room was very hip, which both my husband and I loved. It even had a record player! Layout wise I wish the toilet room was not located right in front of the bed. Only other downside was that there was no hot water. This was not made known when we booked the hotel room nor when we checked in. The hotel did give us a gift card for $46 after I called, but...

Room is ok but front desk service need to improve as not very friendly .
Stayed for one night. The gym is a little small, a single room with couple of treadmills and some dumbbells.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious although the bathroom is small. There is also a small bar, concession area and restaurant on site. It was a good location for ghe Gresham area we were visitjng. The bed was comfortable. I would have liked a heavier weight comforter. But still, we slept very well.
Check in clerk had some difficulty getting the hotel system to integrate with *******
The room was clean and staff member who helped us at the reception desk was friendly. Parking lot needs upgrade.
Only one Lady as the waitstaff with a temporary kitchen and bar. She was working so hard to take care of everyone! She deserves a raise!!

The staff was amazing, the room spotless, the location phenomenal, and the on-site bar/restaurant super convenient. Would recommend for sure!
Comfortable room, good independent control over air/heat. Very nice city view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In-house restaurant/bar Hey Love is a big plus!
Clean, good bar downstairs, comfortable bed, and in a cool neighborhood
Clean Room! Amazing Staff! And the view was fantastic! We love the Jupiter Next!!!!
Clean and relaxed All staff polite and helpful Smelled good looked good and the decks/patio balconies are wonderful
The room was spotless and comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. I liked that there were large containers holding the hair and body products and not all the small bottles of product. The disappointment was in the morning coffee and tea station. The tea water was never nice and hot nor was the coffee. Plus cold creamer and it makes for a very disappointing morning drink by the fire place. Otherwise...

Breakfast menu was very limited. Room was old and not very clean though I wouldn’t say it was dirty. Staff when I checked in was a little rude but okay I guess.
Just need a place to rest between flights. The staff were very friendly and the room clean and comfortable. I’d stay again
We enjoyed our stay however a few gnats around the dining area were bothersome. Also, our room wasn't thoroughly cleaned during our stay. Wasnt a big deal but worth mentioning.
The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast had a good variety of choices. only complaint I had was the noise from the traffic on the busy street nearby. I liked that Elmer's Restaurant was just next door, an easy walk for dinner.
Nigh tables were visibly dusty, didn’t notice any other issue, but not sure what the general level of cleaning is. Room quite cold on arrival although heating worked pretty well. Big rooms, comfy beds… not bad for the price having BW name as some warranty
Yes, awesomeness! Overall im really pleased for the greatness of Best Western Hotel and its faculties.

No one answer the call to arrange for the free shuttle bus , the reason we have chosen the hotel for
Red Lion Hotel is a super convenient hotel with a free shuttle for late arrivals/early departures to/from PDX. There's not much to do around the area in terms of food or entertainment, but UberEats is a viable option. If you need somewhere to sleep after or before a flight, Red Lion Hotel is a great choice!
They were very accommodating to me and made me feel like I really was at home
Excellent service, highly recommended
It's a 3-star hotel, ok. But the location, comfort, and especially the service were outstanding. Can't ask for anything more...Oh, did I mention affordable?

The location is great for anyone who has an early morning flight for Portland International Airport. The bed was very clean and comfortable and the room size was generously large.
I rented 2 rooms in December, of 2025 love that fact that is close to the airport make it so easy and convenient. One of the rooms the water of the shower wasn't working no running water I spoke to the front dest they gave me no solution not even a new room with running water or part of my money back, I had to get my children shower in my room. So disappointed about super 8 I have rented rooms in...
I had a wonderful experience with the friendly staff and diligent cleaners during my visit! Their warm hospitality made my stay truly enjoyable, and I can't wait to return for another lovely experience.
Had such a nice and quiet relaxed night together. It was much needed quality time with eachother ❤️
My stay is always great. Amazing price point for the convenience and amenities they offer. Quiet yet off of interstate 205 and very close to PDX. Easy route to downtown Portland or Gresham and anywhere in between The breakfast is light but I appreciate it every time
No luxury but clean and tidy. For the price it was perfect, as I need no more before I take my flight in the morning.

The eclectic style of the hotel, the food and the great bars
Stayed here for 2 nights in December. The hotel itself is really cool with a bunch of unique bars. The area is really beautiful and a short walk to more restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and shopping. All of the employees were really friendly and helpful. We LOVED the heated soaking pool, and really appreciated the hotel guest-only hours as it gets quite busy when its opened to the public. It was a...
Every single staff member was amazing. My room was both adorable and comfortable. I thought I would be sacrificing a bit of comfort for how cool it looked - and I'm okay with that. But it had it all. The bars were fun and every bartender was lovely. The milkshake I got delivered to my room at 9:30pm with a smile after an amazing pool soak really was the cherry on top. It was a perfect stay. Can't wait...
everyone is nice and organized, but there is a significant mustiness of the rugs and hallways. My allergies might mean that is our last stay there.
Unique and fun place Such a unique and fun experience. Everything needed is on site. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the courtyard and a long soak in the soaking pool that evening. There are several bars on site as well as a movie theater.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Kennedy School. It was fun learning the history of the school and walking around enjoying the artwork and unique design. They had a very friendly culture and I especially enjoyed the soaking pool. It is an old building, so does not feature more modern amenities like a mini fridge, tv in rooms, or super updated bathrooms, but the culture and variety of other options like...

Rooms are cleans and well appointed. Staff is amazing—cheerful and helpful. I recommend staying here when in Portland
The team usually pushes you to join their timeshare presentations and you’re asked to pay for wifi if you’re not an “owner” (member). Generally kind of an uncomfortable setting. I’d rather get a normal hotel next time.
Staff was friendly, checkin and checkout was quick. Had valet parking. Rooms were roomy and quiet. Close to nice eat places. Would recommend.
Love the property. Location is perfect. Easy access to many areas of downtown pdx. Deluxe room absolutely the best overlooking the waterfront. Will be back again and again. Thank you for making my stay a delight
Local public transportation stops nearby, allowing you to visit all over the city, including the Arboretum , zoo, Japanese Garden and International Rose Test Gardens only a 20 minute MAX train ride away. While there are many unhoused people in downtown Portland, they do not bother people and I never felt unsafe walking to nearby restaurants or shops. The concierge let me know how to use the transportation...
Beautiful place Fabulous location and service but a little too pushy on the part of staff in front desk. Never understood the term “ resort” if they don’t have a pool, restaurant or bar in site.

Hi! The room was very clean but the staff friendliness was what made our stay outstanding. Personable, genuine and always going above and beyond to be helpful. My 10 year old mentioned it several times as well! And kids tell the truth! We all noticed. Thank you!
The room was clean, but the bed uncomfortable. There wasn't any hand sanitizer and the second floor ice machine was broken. The river view was nice, and the climate control was easy to understand. There wasn't a headboard (which is fine by me) but good luck parking in the wildest parking garage I've ever seen with the amount of tiny spots due to columns.
The hotel itself is in a nice location; however the front desk is rude. I believe his name is Juan at the front desk. He’s not pleasant at all does not make you feel welcome. Customer service training will probably help him. The ladies at the food area and the cook were very nice.
Well, after being on the phone with ******* twice, trying to understand a few things in question, like there are ridiculously low rates for places in which I also had credit that I was wanting to use. After getting off the phone, I went back in to look at the current rates for places again and seeing one charging zero dollars, and I was booking it for two nights so I jumped on it and it showed that...
We had a lovely stay and truly appreciated the staff, who were incredibly polite and friendly throughout our visit. However, we did notice a couple of maintenance issues: the bathtub was clogged upon our arrival, and the bathroom door made a bit of a strange noise. With those small fixes, the room would be perfect!

Super convenient near by Airport and friendly staff
The room is clean, the soundproofing is not very good, the counter is slow, but the overall service is good, there are too few elevators, and many rooms are far away
The room is large, the bedding is clean, the staff is very friendly, and it is only a 6-minute drive from the airport, which is very suitable for early flights. It will still be the best choice next time
It's close to the airport, so it's great, and the price is good~ It's clean and the service is good~ I'm very satisfied~ You can eat welcome drinks/fruits, etc. Coffee is provided 24 hours a day~ Breakfast is simple and good, and it's good that it starts early~ The bed is also comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious and good~ I want to visit again~ ❤️❤️🙏👍 It's close to the airport, so it's great...

Everything was Wonderful. Breakfast was good, except for some of the tenents were rude. Im sure the hotel does't care for people taking so much food to the room. I mean, at least 9 full plates of food
Their breakfast was very good and it was quite a nice and clean in my room on the third floor. Yes there's homeless that's Portland pretty much everywhere so you might make your entry and exit brief but I found it to be perfectly safe.
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and the incredible staff. I want to personally thank Jimmy, Marie, Zach, Simon, Johnny and Judge for the compassion, kindness, and care they showed me during my stay. I was there because my mom was in the hospital, which was one of the hardest times in my life. Every single day, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel supported and welcomed....
Manager James ALWAYS delivers an excellent experience. Security improved with new, tall wrought iron fencing. The rooms received new furnishings and fixtures maintaining the upscale “feel”.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the breakfast was fantastic!

Except for a water stain on bathroom floor (room 323), the hotel is spacious, clean and new feeling. Staff was pleasant.
The staff were excellent but the rooms weren't completely clean. Floor was sticky one towl looled dirty. The hot tub was lukewarm and the jets didnt work.
Only thing wrong was that the handle for controlling the water in the shower fell off!
Room window broke, heard planes all night, window would not close, toilet seat broke. no face wipes, not enough creamers, bad experience, but dinner was awesome. Stay in rooms front side!
The location of this property is great if you are looking for something close to the airport. It also provides easy access to almost anywhere you want to go.
Tub didn’t drain While taking a shower, the tub filled up and did not drain. Even after the shower,?pulling the plug up did not resolve the issue.

Everything is goood and staying there’s make me feel at home.
The hotel was really nice overall, the front desk was really helpful and accommodating, the door man was  polite, and the value was there, especially if you’re doing things downtown in the Pearl District. I had an early flight so proximity to the airport was good. The neighborhood was a bit interesting/questionable but not too bad. The hotel itself was clean and the room was comfortable. Because I had to leave so early, it would have been nice to have some food items to go. I'm guessing that a fair number of guests stay here for the airport - so I don't think I'm the only guest with this request.
Very comfortable and clean, very nice service. My return flight in the evening, there was no place to go after check-out, so I asked the front desk, the manager postponed me until the afternoon check-out, thank you very much, the hotel very good.
This is a modern, clean property close to the intersection of two interstate highways, with onsite parking. Although our room faced a highway and light rail line, the sound insulation was good and we could hardly hear the traffic. The lady at the front desk was very helpful.
The surrounding area, an attorney office with a tent city around it, had me skeptical about my belongings safety and my vehicles but the on-site parking was double fenced and very secure. Entrance thru front door only and you have to be buzzed in by the front desk so not just anyone can waltz in. Beds were clean and comfy, AC worked great. Only downfall was the bathroom vent fan in my room was a...

Elegant rooms, warm staff, perfect location, delicious food, peaceful ambiance—this hotel made my stay truly relaxing and memorable. Highly recommended!
There were holes in the top blanket it just was so shabby for 118 bucks plus $100 Insurance my daughter didn't even stay
I was able to manuever around other guests inside the property. The bottom floor of my stay was interesting that I actually got more privacy than the top floor of my previous stay.
They try... With the decline in quality of life for those afflicted these lower rent motels have become infested with people battling homelessness, drug addiction(blues), and violence. The management here are doing there best to keep up but its a downward spiral. Would of been 4 starts but i don't think the camera in the hallway works. That could be imperative to someone some day soon.

Great stay, but maybe not for the family Room was very clean, and the front desk service was very kind and accommodating.
