The Clyde is such a gem!! The location is ideal for walking and taking in much of Portland's downtown. It's just up the street from Powell's and the Pearl, with lots of fantastic restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. With quick and easy access to public transit, it was a great connection point for getting anywhere in the city.
You can tell immediately that the Clyde is rich with history. They've done a great job highlighting the architectural details and it feels super unique and very Portland. As an interior designer, I immediately fell in love with the lobby; with its high ceilings, happy plants and vintage, hip vibes, it feels effortlessly cool. And the mezzanine area was a fun bonus! Equally great for getting some work done or gathering for game nights, it's a super unique feature. The staff was very helpful, the coffee shop next door was great (with a surprisingly good vegetarian breakfast burrito) and our rooms were comfy with great views and old-timey, vintage charm. And good water pressure :) I really can't say enough good things!

We had a great day and everything we did was within walking distance or quick Uber away. The staff was always friendly and helpful with recommendations The Photo Booth is a nice touch and I had a blast reading through secret messages in the loft library. We are definitely coming back!

Beautiful note that has a coffee shot next door. The room was very homey. Loved everything about it.

We’re old couple. We preferred bright rooms. The place is for hip and youngsters. The place is nit suitable for us

We felt extremely unsafe as there is not a 24 hour reception which meant anyone could enter the building. A few occasions we saw homeless and intoxicated people walking around the building and using amenities who were clearly not guests of the building.

Kasa staff were super great and helpful. The hotel lobby was very festive and had a cool photobooth. The king suite had its own bathroom (& clawfoot tub!) and a working record player with a curated selection of old & new records. The bed was super comfortable and soft. I would recommend bringing an eye mask if you are sensitive to light as some of the manual lift blinds were tricky to close all the way. I’d definitely stay here again, thank you PDX Kasa!

This hotel is in a perfect location downtown. The room was very hip, which both my husband and I loved. It even had a record player! Layout wise I wish the toilet room was not located right in front of the bed. Only other downside was that there was no hot water. This was not made known when we booked the hotel room nor when we checked in. The hotel did give us a gift card for $46 after I called, but that whole experience put a damper on our trip.

This hotel totally captures the spirit of Portland. It' s creative, laid back, and has a cool mix of old school and hipster vibes. My room had turntables and local art on the walls. The cafè downstairs, Stumptown Coffee, made every morning perfect. The staff treated everyone like locals, full of suggestions for unique shops and bars. It s not luxury, but it has so much character that you don'
t miss it. I met other travelers in the lobby and ended up exploring the city with them. Feels like a home for creative souls.

We had an outstanding time at The Clyde Hotel. Central to everything we had planned for our weekend trip. Loved the room- super comfy bed and pillows, great shower, mini fridge, tea kettle... everything very clean. My favorite thing was the design aesthetic throughout, from the lobby to the room, materials were repurposed in a very utilitarian way that didn't lack for a sense of luxury. I want to commend the designers for excellence. We had no problems from check in to check out; all well thought out and felt more like an Airbnb in the best ways possible.
Tokens for coffee and tea at the downstairs shop were much appreciated bonus. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again.
Used secure room in lobby to keep our bags so we could check out early and not schlep luggage around town until we got our car back from secure parking.
Parked down the block at the Union Bank underground parking. Very secure and simple to navigate. $28 for peace of mind overnight. Well worth it.
Overall the hotel offered all we needed and then some. We were very happy with our experience.

Booked three nights for a wedding and was very impressed! The building is old and beautiful and dark, and seems to be in great condition. Great location. This is the first time ive stayed in a roomlet, and sharing the bathroom was not a problem at all. I imagine it can be difficult in high-volume times, though. No breakfast but they give you 4$ tokens to use at the adjoining cafe. Be sure to ask the front desk for more if youre staying more than one night. If you book through airbnb they dont always know your details.
The only worry i have is that in the stairwell bathrooms, the tile can get extremely slippery. I almost bit it once or twice. The hotel will want to invest in textured stickers or an extra handrail.
Overall a great stay. I was charmed!
