Holiday Inn Express And Suites Seattle Downtown - Lake Union by IHG in Seattle

Parking was hard to find in the dark ;you go into a tiny alley way.
Property IS under construction, smells like chemicals, taped off everywhere. Front deck person was no where to be found when I arrived around 7pm...construction person had to call them! That took probably 6 minutes. Irritating .
No vending machines...because of the construction. I had to door dash. Irritating.
Basic room.
Don't stay here .

Unfortunately, this hotel was in pretty rough shape. There were large water-damaged spots on the ceilings, uneven flooring with strange indents throughout, and an overall sense of neglect. Having previously worked in hospitality, it was clear to me that the property is in desperate need of maintenance and care.
Our room had torn wallpaper, broken tile flooring, trim, visible mold, and several areas that were not properly cleaned very disappointing, especially for the price.
When I called a week prior to confirm my reservation (booked through a third-party app), the front desk agent was immediately rude, questioning why I hadn’t booked directly with them. The tone was unprofessional and caught me completely off guard. I didn’t want to complain to her because I was worried she would mess with my reservation, she quickly changed her tune when I asked for her name at the end of the call.
At check-in, there was only one staff member working with a long line of guests waiting with no greeting, no we will be with you shortly nothing. She was kind and clearly doing her best, but it was obvious she was overwhelmed. It didn’t seem fair that management left her to handle that alone.
Parking was also unreasonably expensive $35 a day should really be included in the stay. I understand parking is insane in Seattle but we’re paying good money to stay there.
Overall, the hotel needs serious updates, stronger management support, and improved customer service. About 90% of the staff could benefit from professional training the kind of behavior I experienced would not have been acceptable in any hospitality setting I’ve worked in.

1. The water pressure for shower is disaster
2. The room is very noisy … anyone walks above your room you can hear the stomping sound
3. The self laundry room didn’t indicate that machine only can use 9 am to 9 pm … is pretty illogical as who will be washing during day time when you have to go work
4. Room is very dark … and there is no night lights
