Mixed Experience at a Stylish Hotel
I recently stayed at the Kimpton Palladian Hotel and had a very mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is fantastic, the bed was comfortable, and the decor throughout the hotel was stylish and thoughtfully done. The bathroom in our room was particularly impressive. It was modern, clean, and a highlight of the stay.
The morning staff were kind and professional, which we really appreciated. However, the evening front desk staff were unprofessional. One of them was literally biting their nails while we were trying to get help with a reservation issue. There was a clear lack of customer service, and it felt like we were being brushed off rather than assisted. The room itself, while nicely designed, felt a bit dated and had poor sound insulation — we could hear noise from surrounding rooms pretty clearly.
Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel in a great location, but the quality of service is inconsistent and needs improvement.

Checked in late after a very long travel day and was kindly greeted and helped right away. Everything was clean and bed was very comfortable. Decor is super stylish and well decorated.
Quick walk to Pike Place and lots of restaurants and coffee shops close by. There is also a hotel bar and restaurant on site that looked great.
Walls do seem a bit thin, so something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to that.

Great location to Pikes Market. There are a few concerns to keep in mind. The walk back up on Virginia is a steep hill, so be prepared. Going back UP to the hotel will be hard, especially if you are full from all the goodies at the market. The rooms have thin-ish walls. We could hear conversations completely. There is a refrigerator, but NO MICROWAVE. There is no current microwave on the 2nd floor where the ice machine is located. Otherwise, very hospitable staff and parking was $62 a night, but you have in and out privileges, so it is worth it to explore the outer areas of Seattle and surrounding islands. We look forward to staying here the next time we visit.

Shaker + Spear, located in the Kimpton Palladian Hotel in Seattle’s Belltown, is a great spot for a night out. The place has a sleek, modern vibe that’s still cozy and inviting. The open kitchen and bar keep things lively, and it works well for a date or a group hang.
The menu focuses on Pacific Northwest seafood, and you can tell they’re using fresh, local ingredients. Our server, Angie, was awesome and recommended the whole fried snapper paired with a Riesling for our group’s event. That was a total hit. The snapper came out crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned, with tender, flaky meat. It looked amazing and tasted even better. The Riesling Angie suggested was crisp with a hint of sweetness, and it went perfectly with the fish. Such a great call.
The cocktails were solid with some creative flair, and the wine list had a nice selection of Washington wines. Angie and the staff were super friendly, knew the menu well, and made the night feel special. Everything flowed smoothly, and the service was spot-on.

The room itself was clean, and the bed was comfortable. My main issues were that there was not a deadbolt on the inside of the door - only the one that can be unlocked with a key card. As a woman traveling alone, that made me extremely uncomfortable. Also, the walls are incredibly thin. If the person in the room next to you showers, turns on the sink, sneezes, opens a fast food paper bag, you’ll hear it. On a lesser note, there was a makeup colored stain on one of my towels, and because of the shower design, you can’t turn the water on without getting your arm wet. There’s also no bathroom fan.
The staff was very nice and super helpful when I needed toothpaste or had questions about the amenities fee.

However, it’s in an area really populated by the homeless and I didn’t feel safe going out in the dark. The bar is awesome! Great bartenders, very friendly. I love the decor, it's dark and feels like an old speakeasy. The rooms are nice and most even have a pretty decent view.
