Reviews
I would like to highlight several negative aspects regarding the service in the restaurant. First of all, the slowness: waiting times are excessive. A concrete example is ordering a coffee, being told it would take five minutes, waiting 20 minutes, and never receiving it. The same happened at the Yasmin restaurant, located within the hotel.
Another incident that concerned us took place in the pool area. One day, my partner saw a man leaning out of a window, pointing his phone toward the pool and recording teenage girls in swimsuits. When he noticed we were watching, he quickly closed the curtain and stopped. Situations like this should never occur; greater presence and supervision in the area would have prevented it. In addition, we suspected that some employees were using the facilities themselves, which gave an unprofessional impression.
In conclusion, if the hotel wants to open up to tourism and leave a good impression, there are important aspects that need improvement.
Except that the room was full and I didn't stay in this hotel
Room decor is kind of tacky, but that seems to be the design norm here. Good sized, although the entryway is pretty squeezy due to the bukly wardrobe. Bed is quite comfortable.
The hotel breakfast has a decent spread and tastes pretty good.
Service is just OK
I had a wonderful experience at the Medina Hotel Samarkand. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always ready to assist, making me feel right at home. Especially one of the receptionist named Firouz. He helped us a lot to solve our team's personal problems. Although it was not part of his duties at all.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet; it offered a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. The hotel's location was convenient, with many of Samarkand's attractions within walking distance. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Dan and Mr. Firuz for the exceptional kindness, support, and professionalism they extended to us during our stay at Medina Hotel, Samarkand.
Your warm hospitality made our visit truly memorable and comfortable.
Your genuine care, attention to detail, and readiness to assist at every moment did not go unnoticed.
We are deeply grateful for the way you made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay.
Thank you once again for going above and beyond.
We carry fond memories of Medina Hotel, thanks in no small part to your gracious presence.
Warm regards.
The room facilities are average. The repair service was forgotten and we had to contact them several times.
The network is pretty fast.
The breakfast was very good and rich, and it was served on the balcony on the 5th floor, so you don't have to eat lunch after having breakfast.
There are many places where you want to spray it, but it is not completely useless.
When I arrived on the first night, I really wanted to explode: 1. They gave me the wrong room! I went to a room first, and when I opened the door, there were two boxes! I didn't dare go in for fear of being beaten to death, so I asked the front desk to open the door for me to confirm. I didn’t expect there were guests living there! I guess it scared the other person half to death. 2I paid online before, but they made a mistake and asked me to pay again. Fortunately, I discovered it in time and returned it. The door of room 3 opens outwards and has no safety buckle. To be honest, people who have security anxiety will really be anxious. 4. The soundproofing of the room is really bad, the gap between the door is quite large, and the voices of people outside can be heard in the room. Based on the above things, I really decided to give it a completely bad review the next day. But the second day I had a better experience. First of all, there is the breakfast restaurant, which has a nice environment and the food is worthy of this small hotel. The swimming pool is filled with water and cleaned every day. The decoration and furniture in the room are actually quite good, basically the same as in the pictures. I saw that everyone said the waiters were very bad before, maybe they were replaced this time? The attitude towards us is good. His English is a little bit poor, but our English is also very bad. After staying for two days, I feel that this hotel actually wants to run well. It may be the lack of experience in hotel management that leads to chaos and poor attention to details. There is room for improvement, please be lenient and don't give a bad review.
2. To cheat people, they charge random fees. Visa on arrival is 27USD per person, but other hotels don’t charge a cent.
3. When we inquired about the ticket, they were enthusiastic and helpful, but actually charged us 25USD for the difference. When we were unsure, they charged us 10USD for the refund (the key point was that the ticket was wrong. We requested a ticket from Samarkand to Tashkent, but he bought a ticket from Tashkent to Samarkand)
4. Visa on arrival is processed in one day instead of two days
5. Threatening us: "This is Uzbekistan, not China, so be careful what you say."
