Konstantin Hotel in Samarkand

I had the pleasure of staying for three wonderful nights during a tour of Uzbekistan. The hotel was absolutely stunning, filled with charming period features that gave it lots of character. The staff were incredibly friendly and always eager to help, making me feel right at home. The communal areas were spotless and looked absolutely impressive, even with the Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, which added a fun touch of charm. It’s clear this hotel truly has a lot of personality. The rooms were spacious with high ceilings and very comfortable. There was plenty of seating to relax and unwind. Our room featured a super king-size bed and a single, all with impeccably clean linens, making the beds and pillows so cozy. The bathroom was large, equipped with a bath and plenty of toiletries, which made it so convenient. Our room overlooked the pool, providing a peaceful and quiet atmosphere for a restful stay. Thick curtains helped keep the room dark, creating a perfect retreat. Breakfast was absolutely superb, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The quality of the food was excellent, and the staff were always nearby and ready to assist whenever needed.

I had a pleasant stay at Konstantin Hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the basic amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping did a good job, and the hotel overall felt well maintained. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights as part of an organised tour. Rooms are large, spacious and well equipped only criticism would be electric sockets were difficult to access for charging items like phones. We didn’t get time to use all the facilities like the pool but the dining area was well set up with a great choice for breakfast. There was no lift but porters were on hand to carry bags and cases up to rooms

An interesting hotel but a good 30 minute cab ride from Registan Square, the main area of interest so perhaps not the best location for a tourist. The room we had was fine, large and with a very comfortable bed. No idea what the TV was like as we hardly had time to watch it, the wifi was flaky though but we found that to be the case everywhere in Uzbekistan. Breakfast was OK but nothing spectacular and the ‘hot’ options were all pretty cool, again that appears the case everywhere. We found the staff friendly and helpful even though one young man appeared to have no idea how to take the cork out of a wine bottle, I guess not many guests drink wine. Well, it is a Muslum country. The owner has a thing for Marilyn Monroe. There are pictures of her all over the place, in the breakfast room, in reception and the main gallery in the bar come coffee room. Quite strange but was fine with me, I still think she was a stunner.

A beautifully maintained, clean hotel with faultless presentation throughout. The garden provides a tranquil retreat around a beautifully clean swimming pool. Breakfast is plentiful and a wide selection is provided of high quality, though surprisingly the hot food trays are only warm at best if on at all. It seems that throughout Uzbekistan hot breakfast items are not served hot! The breakfast cakes were probably the best during our stay in Uzbekistan. As usual the reception staff were very helpful, or at least tried. Location could be a drawback for some as the hotel is someway out of the town centre, though it is on the tramway therefore providing relatively easy access if needed. There are plenty of essential shops in the immediate area and some fine restaurants within walking distance. So what was odd? 1. BBC and Al Jazeera we were told was 'banned' from the TV so plenty of false news available! 2. A particularly surly member of staff will grudgingly move suitcases (when not even asked) and having done so will then menacingly demand a tip for doing so.....not typical Uzbek hospitality. 3. Some staff appeared uneasy with us.....maybe a sign of the times and a reflection on 1 above!
