Bendecir Hotel & Spa in Hanoi

The roomis okay, but over all the hotel feels quite worn and would really benefit from a deep clean.

The bathroom is not in great condition: there is very limited storage space, the fixtures feel outdated and to get hot water for a shower you need to leave the switch on for about 20 minutes. If another person showers shorty after, the hot water may run out, so you need to wait again.

Breakfast is included and offers a wide variety of options. However, the overall cleanliness and atmosphere in the breakfast area made mir feel uncomfortable so I didn‘t really enjoy eating there.

The staff are the highlight of this hotel - everyone i interacted with was genuinely friendly, helpfull and kind.

The location is excellent and very central, but this also means it can be quite noisy, especially at night.

Overall the hotel did not feel like good value for the price.

This hotel is advertised as 4-star, but it felt nowhere near that standard. In my books it’s closer to 2–2.5 stars, which made the rave reviews a real surprise.
The place feels old and run down, with narrow, steep stairs, tight corridors, and only a single tiny lift, which is inconvenient. The bathroom was tiny, and while there was a shower curtain, it felt pretty icky — the type of setup you’d expect in a budget hotel, not somewhere calling itself 4-star. A proper shower screen would have made a big difference.
The one standout positive was the front-of-house staff — friendly, courteous, and genuinely helpful. No complaints there.
Breakfast was okay with a decent spread, and I appreciated the eggs cooked to order, but the breakfast area was cramped and felt very “back of house.” Hygiene also felt questionable, especially with cardboard laid on the floor to soak up what looked like a water leak or spill.
There’s no swimming pool, and even on higher floors the street noise still woke me up, which affected sleep.
The only major plus is the location — close to the lake and right in the Old Quarter, which is convenient.
Overall: Great location and helpful staff, but the hotel itself is dated, cramped, and noisy, and doesn’t come close to a 4-star experience. I was honestly glad to check out, and I won’t be returning.
