Stayed 3 nights at Golden Rooster Hotel and overall had a good experience. I booked a double room for 2 people, but the room felt quite small, so I asked the staff if it was possible to change to a twin room. Luckily they had availability and helped us change rooms immediately. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and gave good recommendations for tourist spots and local restaurants.

I stayed in room 204 next to the elevator. The room window was small and faced the kitchen area downstairs, so there was some noise starting around 6 AM and food smells coming into the room in the morning through small gaps. I used tissue paper to help block it a bit.

The hotel itself feels a little old but has been renovated and kept quite clean. The bathroom had a slight drain smell, and the hot water heater area was open at the top, which made me slightly worried about insects entering. I think it would be better if the hotel covered that area more properly.

Breakfast changed daily and included one main dish per person. The meals were filling with protein, carbs, and enough energy for traveling. The TV worked and had music channels, although the picture quality was not very clear.

The hotel has both an elevator and stairs, and the location is very convenient, close to many attractions and restaurants in the Old Quarter. Good value overall thanks to the helpful staff and location

Wasnt keen on the no window / hallway window rooms so switched up to the palatial 401. Wonderful stay. Slept well, nice air con (and ceiling fan too). Emma and Anna are great reception staff, as per the other reviews. Breakfast is so tasty. Worth getting up for.

Service and location was excellent. Phuong and her colleague stayed up to 11pm to wait for us to arrive as our shuttle was delayed. Breakfast buffet changed each day and catered well to our needs with eggs as you like and chicken/beef pho along with all a very complete buffet.
The premium room was a little smaller, deluxe room was just right. Ceilings would be a little low in the bathroom for anyone who is 175cm or taller. Shower water is abit unpredictable and shower gel or shampoo is unlabeled, but all your needs are there. Bed was very large and firm. Surprisingly quiet on the 5th level besides some typical background traffic horns. Highly recommend Golden Rooster.
