Minasi HanoiOi LakeSide Hotel in Hanoi

This hotel is a hidden gem, and I can't understand why the ratings and reviews are so mediocre.

First off, upon check-in, we were greeted with complimentary fruit.

Secondly, the hotel's location is absolutely superb. Turn left out of the hotel, and after two traffic lights, you're at Hoan Kiem Lake. It perfectly embodies the idea of being 'quiet amidst the hustle and bustle.' If you turn left at the first traffic light and walk straight for about 30 minutes, you'll reach the Temple of Literature. The cathedral is only an 8-minute walk away.

The breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. The staff member, Cheery, provided excellent service. I mentioned to her that I have a 'Chinese stomach' and usually eat congee for breakfast, and sure enough, starting the next day, congee was available.

The bedding, towels, and other linens were also very clean, with that distinct smell of high-temperature disinfection.

Drawbacks: It's not ideal for two businessmen on a trip. The twin room was quite small (which seems to be a common issue). My king-size room was actually two beds pushed together, so there was definitely a 'dip' in the middle. The most unbearable part was staying on the fifth floor – the water pressure in the shower was extremely low, making showering a real ordeal.

Overall, if I visit again, this hotel will still be my top choice.

The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful. The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk from the Old Quarter. The continental and Vietnamese breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The only minor issue was the unsatisfactory Wi-Fi quality.

Good service! We arrived at 11 AM, even though check-in was at 2 PM, and they gave us a room right away. Initially, we were put in a room with two single beds pushed together, but they later switched us to a room with a king-size bed. For one person, it's fine, but for two, it's not very comfortable – a bit cramped. What I really didn't like was the mold in the shower; you could definitely smell it!

The hotel was great and the customer service was very good. The manager was smiling and pleasant. We only had one unpleasant surprise the shampoo had gone moldy and had a strange smell. Apart from that, the breakfast was good and everything else was very nice.

Great location, right in the heart of everything the city has to offer.

The place is very nicely located near the lake. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The breakfast was very good. The rooms are very clean but a bit old.
