Overall a very good experience. We were a group of 6 and had booked 3 rooms. The rooms are very spacious and nice with some of them with the lake view. The service staff is very friendly and courteous. They have a nice coffee shop in the lobby and we also experienced the Ming restaurant for dinner and the Summit for the evening drinks. The Summit is on the rooftop with nice views of the city and a perfect place to spend evenings. Ming has a good variety of Cantonese menu with very quick and friendly service. One small issue is the location as it is a bit away from Old Quarter and you will need a cab to go back and forth.

The hotel boasts an excellent location with stunning views of West Lake. The room layout is quite French-inspired, and both the bed and pillows are incredibly soft, with pleasant-feeling sheets and duvet covers. However, the soundproofing isn't great. I could hear noises from the hallway, and I even heard the Apple alarm from the room next door at 8 AM. The guest next door might not have woken up, but I certainly did! 🤣

Not bad. The hotel is a bit old but well-maintained. The location is excellent, right by West Lake and close to all the attractions. Just a couple of elevators had a strange smell, and the shower area tended to get watery.

Great location with easy access via walking or grab to old quarter, west lake, government area, and botanical gardens. Staff was relatively friendly. Upon check in, we were told they wouldn’t honor our American Express fine hotels perk, which was a loss of $100…a bit annoying. Room was very dated…stains on the carpet, AC that didn’t work, and black mold in the showers. Breakfast was delicious, although over priced at $20 when you can walk around the block and get similar quality of food for $1.50. They did do money exchange at the hotel for a great rate though, which was really appreciated. Overall, a very underwhelming hotel.

Service was excellent. Hotel location was good with easy access to Old Quarter and the Lotte Mall via Grab. Pan pacific hotel reservations team was very accommodating to our requests for early checkin and even gave us a surprise wedding anniversary cake. Room view was excellent with direct view of the lake. Thank you so much.

What a magnificent breakfast was had this morning at the level 17 club lounge, pan pacific hotel Hanoi.
This was without doubt / arguably?? The best breakfast I have ever had, anywhere in the world!!
You can order fresh made specialties!
And or choose from the buffet,
What made the buffet special was the way all food was presented, displayed and stored to remain fresh, light and delicious.
Extremely good!

The hotel is right next to Hoan Kiem Lake, so you can take a nice stroll along the lake at night. The facilities are quite old, feeling like they're from the 90s. Breakfast was decent, and the pho was particularly good. However, there was hardly anything to eat in the executive lounge.

We stayed at the Pan Pacific Hanoi from 15-20 January 2026. I chose the hotel because of its 5-star status, the fact that it's a well-known chain, and the fact that it's close enough to the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter while being far enough away to easily catch a break from the chaos.

I had booked a Deluxe Lakeview room, but upon arrival we saw that the room we were assigned was significantly smaller than the pictures. Everything in the room was also extremely dated, the furniture was scratched up, and the carpet didn't seem clean. It definitely would not have worked for my partner and I for a 5-night stay.

We then decided to upgrade to a suite to get us more space and to not have to go through the hassle of finding an alternative hotel. While the suite was significantly more spacious, the same issues re: dated and worn furniture were still present. There was also a major lack of power outlets in the rooms - there weren't even outlets next to the bed. The HVAC in the room also didn't work well, and it felt extremely warm and muggy even when turned down to 16°C.

The pool at the hotel is nice, but the locker rooms and spa areas were unclean and also not in good condition. The toilets in the locker room were unclean / covered in pee, there were no hand towels at the locker room's sinks, and there was trash on the counter and on the floors. The steam room was full of what looked like rust spots, and they had also filled the steam vent with herbs that had clearly been there a while and looked more like wet, spoiled leaves you'd find in a kitchen compost bin.

The hotel breakfast buffet was good at least, but they seemed very short staffed. Getting the attention of the staff to being over a coffee wasn't exactly easy.

All in all, this definitely didn't feel like a 5-star experience and wasn't worth what I paid. If you're after a high quality 5-star experience, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Found this hotel through AMEX hotel collection. Listed as a 5-star hotel but is more like a 3.5 star. The rooms are showing age, halls have markings and paint peeling, smaller than expected too. From the photos you’d think it would be more up to date. The view is great of river outside the lounge bar on 20th floor. Staff is friendly and professional, assisted with helping us move rooms due to the first having issues. Tried the body scrub treatment and would highly recommend. Overall okay experience but probably one of the better hotels you’ll find in the area.
