BE AWARE! WE WERE SCAMMED

We arrived very late, around 3:00 a.m., due to a delayed night flight. Upon arrival, we were informed that there was no room available for us and that we would need to stay in another nearby hotel. Unfortunately, this alternative hotel was of very low quality and nothing like what was advertised or shown in the pictures (as you can see in the photos below).

The bed was extremely uncomfortable, with a very hard mattress and stained bedsheets.
The room did not feel hygienic at all.

We had also booked breakfast, but in the morning we were told that breakfast was served in yet another different building, in a low budget hostel, about a 3-minute walk from the original hotel, which was also nothing similar to what we saw in pictures.

After this experience, it is hard to believe that the good reviews here are real — they are very likely fake. Please do yourself a favor and NEVER book a room here.

We booked a total of 4 rooms for 8 people and stayed at the hotel for nearly a week. Our experience was truly wonderful.
Our first great impression was that the hotel allowed us to store our luggage a few days before check-in so we could travel to Sapa. This was extremely helpful and convenient for our group.
When we returned to check in, the staff warmly welcomed us and assisted us with a very quick and smooth check-in process. They kindly helped carry our luggage to the rooms, and the hotel has an elevator, which was very convenient, especially since we had a lot of bags.
Throughout our stay, the staff were incredibly friendly and supportive. Breakfast is located outside the hotel, but the staff woke up early to take us there without any complaints. We truly appreciated their dedication and kindness.
On the night of our late check-out, we had many pieces of luggage, and the staff helped us bring everything to the car and even assisted our driver without asking for anything in return.
Overall, we would rate the staff 10/10 for their professionalism and friendliness. The rooms were very clean and cozy, suitable for both short and long stays. The hotel also seems to have a high occupancy rate, which reflects the quality of its service.
We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again in the future.

Very convenient location , within walking distance to every street, food , shopping, tourist booking office etc . Serving breakfast too. Good value for money

The guy at the reception desk was very friendly and let me check in early. The hotel is conveniently located and everything was good. I will return to this hotel next time.

This charming little hotel is located in the heart of Hanoi. My room had two chairs and a table.
The room had a large, comfortable bed, minibar, complimentary drinking water (refills available), a kettle, a work desk, two chairs, and a bathroom with separate bathtub and shower.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was served in a separate location but was delicious and offered a beautiful view.
I stayed there for two nights and decided to extend for another five nights, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, friendly service, great location – just steps from the attractions, and the surrounding restaurants are excellent. Unfortunately, the night we stayed was the noisiest with lots of parties around; the staff said it was the biggest party of the year celebrating a major Vietnamese holiday.

The check-in process went smoothly from the start. Although my English isn't very good, they spoke slowly and made sure I understood, and the staff were very friendly. Friendliness is paramount in the hospitality industry, and all the staff were very friendly. If I have the chance to return, I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Due to health issues, I missed my flight and was unable to check in.
The booking was non-refundable; however, Manager Kane was very helpful and agreed to rearrange my booking so I wouldn't lose my money. I am extremely grateful for his support and professionalism.

We stayed at Skyline Hanoi Hotel as a group of 6 people and had a wonderful experience.
The staff were extremely kind and helpful, assisting us with luggage, transportation arrangements, and being very proactive in finding the best solutions for our group. When the night market was too crowded for a 16-seat vehicle, the hotel quickly arranged two smaller cars (5-seat and 7-seat) so we didn’t have to walk far through the busy market with all our luggage. This was a very thoughtful and convenient solution for us.
The hotel is small and located in a narrow alley, but the location is excellent—very close to the night market, restaurants, Hanoi beer spots, and local food stalls, making it easy to explore the area.
Our rooms were very clean and quite spacious, especially since we booked the best room categories, which made our stay comfortable and relaxing.
Overall, this was a great choice, and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Hanoi.

Worst hotel experience of my life – unsafe, misleading, and filthy

I booked Skyline Hanoi Hotel for 3 nights (INR 9,500 total). This was hands-down the stupidest hotel decision I’ve ever made.

Let’s be clear:
• The hotel is located inside a narrow, shady, filthy lane that constantly smells of garbage and sewage.
• The “Superior Double Room” was tiny, suffocating, and poorly maintained.
• Promised amenities (locker, mirror, desk, etc.) were missing. There was no mirror except in the bathroom.
• Switchboards, cupboards, and doors were wobbly and broken.
• Bathtub shower was broken on arrival — replaced only after repeated complaints. After fixing it, staff left the bathroom soaking wet and didn’t bother cleaning.

Now here’s the absurd part:
Because this hotel sits in a claustrophobic alley and lacks space, breakfast is served ~500 meters away in another building.

You must: Walk 500m → take elevator to 8th floor → climb 2 flights of stairs → reach 10th floor
…just to receive pathetic, low-quality breakfast.
Minimal variety. Cold coffee. Ice request denied.

If you’re traveling with parents, elderly people, or anyone with knee issues — avoid this hotel at all costs.

Then came the final disaster.
Today, on my last morning (8 AM), water stopped in my room (401) while I was literally in the middle of using the toilet. Staff kept telling my wife “10 minutes”. It never came.

We checked out at 11 AM — water was STILL not restored.

They later admitted only my room had no water.

Their solution?
They asked us to carry all our toiletries to the 7th floor to bathe and use the toilet there.

That’s when I discovered something even worse:
👉 My 7th-floor key opened my 4th-floor room.
This means ANY guest can potentially access ANY room.
That is a massive security breach. Completely unacceptable.

This place is not even 1-star standard.
Broken infrastructure. Zero hygiene. No accountability. Dangerous security lapses.

This hotel single-handedly ruined my Hanoi experience.

Save your money. Save your sanity. Book literally anywhere else. I am not coming back here. Never.

Double room with window overlooking the hall felt a bit claustrophobic, due to the absence of day light/fresh air. It also smelt a bit odd, like moist/mold. Great location though, and great breakfast.

The hotel is very centrally located and all the rooms have good air conditioning and a refrigerator. They also provided me with a hairdryer, razor and toothbrushes. Fast WiFi and very good breakfast is included in the price always. Check in was convenient and the staff were nice. The bathroom was very nice but perhaps they could clean the lime from the surfaces of the water outlets for a smoother experience. Some noises from outside can be heard in the rooms, take earplugs with you.

Good location, walkable to most of attractions of ancient town, restaurants and bars. Clean and quiet room but quite small, smaller than what they describe, about 16m2 (172ft2) for double room. Breakfast was good and change everyday. Doormen were so polite and helpful, but the reception was very arrogant, I booked 2 single beds but they give me double bed and when I complained they said that I didn't pick type of room! even I still have my booking confirm, anyway just don't want to have any argument after a long tired trip. But I would not come back.

This hotel is a haven from the frenzy of the Old Quarter streets. Exciting as it was to explore the Old Quarter, the comfortable rooms with double-glazed doors and windows kept the noise under control when we needed a break. Breakfast buffet was excellent although restaurant meals did not reflect the fresh Vietnamese cuisine we were looking for. Staff could not have been more helpful. The concierge walked us to a nearby massage centre where the prices were cheaper and the service more professional than many of the other centres that proliferate the area. When we had to check out before breakfast to catch a flight the staff organised a takeaway breakfast bag for us.

We booked this hotel through a tour company that we followed for our entire trip. The staff are extremely friendly, great locations and noise level in rooms is low to none surprisingly! My only issue was bed bugs. We slept one night, i felt like things were crawling on me, but im an overly paranoid person so i let it go. The next evening we were taking a nap and my fiance felt like he got bit. We found many bed bugs in the bed. The hotel staff seemed not too familiar with the subject, and were happy to change our room and wash all of our clothing free of charge. The next day we walked by the room and saw the maid simply changing the bed sheets. To me, bed bugs require more treatment than just changing the sheets. We did not have the bed bugs follow us to any other hotels after. I believe this was probably an isolated issue and everything else about the hotel was great, just wanted future travelers to be aware.
