Long Mountain in Phu Quoc Island

Scam Alert.
I booked Long Mountain Resort back in July through Agoda because Phu Quoc is extremely busy during the Christmas holiday and I wanted to secure accommodation early. I paid in full months in advance. When we arrived on December 26th, the resort told us they were fully booked and claimed our reservation could not be honored.
They immediately blamed Agoda, which is completely untrue. Agoda later confirmed to me that there was no message from Long Mountain Resort stating they were closed or fully booked before we made our reservation. This was entirely the hotel’s fault.
Because it was December 26th, there were no reasonable hotel options left—only either filthy red-light hotels or outrageously priced luxury hotels (around $2,000 a night). That’s when the real scam happened. The woman running Long Mountain Resort tried to send us to her friend’s hotel, claiming it had a beachfront bungalow. I was immediately concerned because that hotel had terrible ratings (around 6.0 on both Agoda and Google), and we were traveling with children and visiting relatives.
My husband went to inspect it and confirmed it was awful—there was no beachfront bungalow at all, and it was absolutely not suitable for kids or family. We refused.
As a result of Long Mountain Resort’s mistake, we spent four hours walking the streets trying to find somewhere to stay and ultimately had to pay double the price just to get a room elsewhere. It was stressful, exhausting, and completely unnecessary.
To make matters worse, the woman who runs the resort took zero responsibility, never apologized, and continued to blame Agoda, acting visibly annoyed with us—as if we were the problem. Even after Agoda reimbursed us, I never received a single apology from the hotel, despite the owner having my WhatsApp contact and the ability to message me directly through Agoda.
This was a classic bait-and-switch attempt, and it put our family in an awful situation during one of the busiest times of the year.
Stay far away from Long Mountain Resort. I would never trust this business, especially if you’re traveling with children or during peak season. One star is being generous.

Scam alert!! We booked two rooms here 5 months in advance. When we arrived, they told us that they were sold out and had no more rooms left. Terrible customer service and the lady seemed aggravated that we were even there. It's not even a nice place anyways. There's lots of other nice places to go like Duy gnoc.

My wife and I booked a week's stay at this place, and arrived on Phu Quoc island looking forward to a nice relaxing time after a lot of hectic touring around Vietnam. We arrived in the afternoon and were greeted by piles of boxes and building materials in the reception area. We were shown to our bungalow, which we found to be basically unfinished. Apart from a bed, a small table and a fridge, there was no furniture in the room. A hanging rail seemed to have been hastily rigged up (without coathangers), and a solitary electric kettle was on the small table (no cups, tea or coffee). Outside was a nice big terrace with absolutely no furniture - not a chair or table to be seen. We asked the owner where the furniture was, and he replied that there was none. Worst of all, alongside the handful of finished bungalows were a number of half-built ones in the process of being built. Piles of sand, cement and other mess were dumped all around, and we could hear power tools being use d just metres from the pool. This is not a place we could possibly have stayed for the peaceful relaxing holiday we needed, so we spent an hour on the phone to Agoda and managed to get a refund. Thankfully we were able to book into another place for the night, just a short walk away. As of December 2018 this place is nothing more than a building site, which should not be open to paying guests while construction is in progress.
