Amfora Hotel Spa in Durres

Firstly I cannot fault the cleanliness of this hotel,bar staff and waiting on staff were good but this is really all I can praise. . No kettle in room . Abysmal food , choice of 4 dishes , always lukewarm. . No milk . No tea . No butter We were checked in by a young guy who virtually threw the key card at us. Didn't tell us room number, floor or how to find our room Next day the receptionist told me we were only allowed 1 key as the hotel was full and they dont have spares??? This was once she'd got off her phone ! All inclusive only available at beach bar until 10pm Wi-fi was shocking kept dropping out, very annoying Dinner was served until 9.30pm , we went down at 8.25pm , all tureens empty with no signs of replenishment. We waited a while then went to a restaurant down on the strip. Beach was nice as was beach bar with friendly staff. Albania is a beautiful country , we will be back but not to this hotel ! This is not worthy of 4 stars !

The food was very limited in variety and most of the staff were very unfriendly. They always seemed to be doing a "favor" when serving customers. They close the pool at 6:30 PM, even forcing customers to leave. The spa is not operating. The only redeeming quality is the room service, which is always clean.

Spa closed (although advertised), deckchairs removed mid-week (while we still had 25 degrees), we had to go to a nearby hotel to enjoy the deckchairs (paying of course) Construction site on the beach, not cleaned. Stained cover, broken curtains. The staff should work considerably on their posture (smile 😃 😃, and the receptionists very often on their cell phones (we feel like we are disturbing if we have to ask them) I also recommend brochures, advice for excursions at reception... otherwise manage with the internet (which we did) Location: really close to the highway. While walking in the evening, we were able to enjoy entertainment (pianists, music) from several neighboring hotels. Too bad, hotel with potential to exploit!

The hotel had terrible food, always the same repetitive dishes: chicken, pasta, chicken, pasta. The restaurant staff needed training; they were unfriendly, always lacking cutlery and never bothering to replenish it. The only positive thing was the cleanliness of the rooms.
