Hotel Denoel in Ksamil

I’m writing this review to share both positive and concerning aspects of my stay.

To start with the positives: the hotel rooms are spacious, nicely remodeled, and overall comfortable. Having breakfast and dinner included is definitely a plus and adds value to the stay. Most of the staff are friendly and courteous, doing their best to assist guests. That said, it’s also clear many of them are overworked, often seen working long hours every single day without much support—which unfortunately impacts the overall guest experience.

Now, for the concerns:

The most serious issue is the repeated instances of hotel staff entering the room without permission—outside of routine cleaning hours. This happened both in the early morning and late at night, which is incredibly invasive. Guests could easily be in a state of undress, sleeping, or in an intimate moment. It’s a major violation of personal privacy and absolutely unacceptable.

In addition, the rooms lack an extra safety latch or secondary lock from the inside. For a hotel of this caliber, this is a basic safety feature that should be in place—especially considering the incidents of unannounced entries.

The ramp leading down to the hotel reception is another safety concern. It’s steep and unsafe, especially when you’re carrying luggage (I had a 50lb suitcase). One could easily slip and fall, and the current design puts the hotel at serious risk of liability. It needs urgent attention.

Lastly, while it’s appreciated that meals are included, the food served is extremely bland and flavorless. There’s a lack of seasoning or attention to taste, which takes away from what could otherwise be a strong amenity.

In summary, while the rooms themselves are modern and well-maintained, and the inclusion of meals is a nice touch, serious improvements are needed in guest privacy, food quality, safety infrastructure, and staff support.

Nice and clean hotel, rooms were cleaned every day, and the staff was excellent — very friendly and helpful. Meal times (8:00–10:00 for both breakfast and dinner) were a bit late for families with young children.

Big disappointment on the last day: although we had already taken a sunbed and left our things, we were told to leave because it was “reserved for the owner’s friends.” We didn’t leave, but it was very unprofessional.

I don’t recommend this hotel — guests are not respected, and priority is given to friends of the owner rather than paying customers.
