PodBed Sydney - Hostel in Sydney

This place is brilliant, the rooms are big and they have there own lockers which should make looking after your stuff easier, the beds are comfy you even get a spare blanket. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The area itself is great and five minute walk to King cross station and plenty of great cheap food and pubs. The only downside is the shop owner beneath the hostel, I think he wanted to be a DJ at some point because all you hear is "thud thud thud" of his music which, for some reason" gets louder after a certain time when you're trying to get to sleep. Bring earplugs and you got a great hostel.

Edit after the owners saw this review they aptly offered to move me into a better room which had a private entrance suite, and they would speak to the shop owner. This hostel prides itself on its hospitality which it definitely lives up to its reputation, to say they go above and beyond is an under statement.

I spent my weekend at the blue parrot and I had a lovely time, the people that work here are so open en warm. If you are looking for a safe haven in the middle of Sydney, then the blue parrot is the place for you. Definitely coming back next time that I'm in Sydney! :)

Ok darling I just had a wonderful time in the Blue Parrot. Everyone is friendly and the staff is fabulous. Always clean and close to all the action.I highly recommend this hostel.!!

The place is really cute and home-y! Common areas are comfortable and make it quite easy to meet other travelers. Did seem to be many people staying there long term, but most of them were pretty friendly and did not make you feel excluded. Would recommend to other solo travelers.

I stayed at this hostel a few times and I loved it. It's really sociable and I met great people there. The location is fantastic and the common areas are perfect to make new friends. Only con are the rooms which are way too hot in summer ( no air con) so I could hardly sleep at night because of the heat. Would recommend staying here, especially as solo traveller

Iv stay here about few times , everything has organized and well maintained.
More over the receptionist are very friendly and do the best as they can.
The toilets and kitchen is regularly well maintained and clean.
Iv met amazing people in blue parrot. If you stay here try relax in backyard. It's really chill and relax.
I defiantly recommend you to stay for yo Sydney travel!!

Such a great hostel great for first Time backpackers and solo travellers made lots of friends here and the staff were great the weekend manager was fantastic and made everyone feel so involved and welcome the staff really make the place the best hostel in Sydney by far! Extended my stay was that nice and people who moved hostels in Sydney still came back to the blue parrot for the people and atmosphere in be evening so that says it all! Only thing I will say is that I would just label your food in a bag with your name room number and check out date on makes it easier on the staff to help clean the fridges out and kitchen clean! Great hostel if I'm ever in Sydney I know where to stay!

Amazing place. I came here alone and made so many great friends and I have so many wonderful memories of the Good Old Parrot! I love love love Sasha and Effie - and of course mama (LOL!).

The rooms are perfect and because The Blue Parrot only holds up to around 50/60 people it really does feel like home, you can meet more people that way and it feels safe to leave your stuff around. The hostel is cleaned every single day, so there is nothing to worry about when it comes to place being clean. Also, the long-term people who stay in the hostel get involved with nights out (which is every night, those girls know how to party!) Even after I left, I used to come up and visit everyone like once a week!

I recommend this place to anyone who is coming to Sydney, its right in Potts Point, so its really where you want to be if you are staying in Sydney. It's a 10 minute walk tops into the city and has everything close by - What more could you ask for!?
The people are amazing, the hostel is amazing and the location is amazing.

I think I have over-used the word amazing but yeah - I rest my case!
