Perfect location. Right in the centre of things.

Could use some air conditioning when it’s hot.

Fantastic location in the Rocks. Welcoming and supportive staff. Nice room however noisy fan outside. Great bed and daily serviced. Many stairs! Nice breakfast included. Would book again.

Great location, just steps away from Circular Quay and easy walking distance to the Sydney Opera House and many restaurants. Unique building floor plan reflecting the age of the building. Room was spotless. Wonderful breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff (we travel heavy, with lots of luggage). Ceiling fans in the room much more comfortable than Air Conditioning. Highly recommend.

Located within a few minutes walk of Circular Quay station, this hotel is ideal if you’re arriving by train from Sydney airport. Well located for walking to the Opera house and Harbour bridge. Traditional, homely, excellent breakfast, good room with all needs met. Will certainly re-use.

A good breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:30. Served on the ground floor in Sydney's oldest pub. The location is right in the center of everything, within walking distance. By the way, an Uber from the airport is about the same price and travel time as public transport, but at least it's so much less crowded. The hotel dates back to 1887, with a stylish interior and exterior. Excellent shampoo and body lotion are provided in the bathroom. No toothbrush or toothpaste, though. There's a communal laundry and a cool rooftop spot for a drink and a smoke with a view of the city. Nearby, there's a place with excellent kangaroo meat, Pony Dining The Rocks. Free tours of the Government House are offered on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with the first one starting at 10:30 a.m.

The bed is small, making it cramped for two. The extractor fan in the bathroom runs all night, humming, and keeping you awake. In the morning, there was a smell of food; apparently, the extractor fan is coming from the kitchen somewhere under the windows. There's no air conditioning, so it was hot and stuffy at night. You can't really open the windows either, there are no screens on them, but there are flies outside.

Had a bizarre experience. Booked online for 6 people where you could make bookings as late as 9pm on Saturday. I booked for 830 but due to our pre dinner drinks taking longer than expected, I called the restaurant and apologised and said we would be 20-25 minutes late. The lady said that would be fine and not to rush. We arrived at 8:55 and the woman at the front desk said they were already closed and we were turned away. Found somewhere around the corner that was still open with fantastic food so our night wasn’t ruined, but I don’t understand how they offer bookings as late as 9pm but then close before then, even when they know a table is due to arrive....

You won't just stumble across this restaurant. It's tucked away through the hotel. When you find it, you'll realise it is a nice cozy restaurant. The hospitality is great. The food was delicious and presented in it's own unique way. The dishes are not the typical flavours you'll be used to, but they taste amazing. Defiantly worth a visit. Also consider booking a table as the restaurant is not that big.

Definitely worth a try. Great value with their deal on living social, and they honour the deal on a Saturday night !

This restaurant is right on circular quay and in the middle of the tourist footfall. As expected, the food is very average and essentially you're paying for the view of the harbour, which looks pretty amazing at night. We ordered two pizzas and some garlic bread, they resembled oven-heated frozen supermarket pizzas, as did the garlic bread. Wood-fired oven labours of love these ain't. Having said that, they tasted ok (as do supermarket pizzas!) Other customers' plates didn't inspire much food envy, this restaurant is listed in Rough Guides but I'm not sure it deserves a mention to be honest. As a tourist, consider going here as a one-time visit for the circular quay atmosphere and the great view, and accept that the food is not going to be your best meal in Sydney. I've no idea why anyone would go back for repeat meals though!

Visit Sydney from Perth and had breakfast at this restaurant . It was nice. Staff were friendly and polite. The view is just beautiful. Love it.

Relaxing outdoor area to drink coffee. Highly recommend the affogatto with frangellico

Love this restaurant. I have had dinner here with various people throughout the years and it is always a great place to eat. A very convenient location as well.

Had dinner last night. Rissoto was delicious. Best bourbon and Coke I have tasted at a restaurant and the staff were friendly, efficient and wonderful to deal with. Will definitely be back.

Nice spot. Keep the beer well. If slightly expensive.

Main reason for not giving 5* is the short-changing on the pints. It's annoying having to ask to get them topped up all the time.

You can take the man out of Scotland, eh?

New year's eve. Great venue, great food and reasonable prices for location. However running out of food, Smirnoff RTDs and having electronic payments failing wasn't ideal. Easy fix for next year, keep up the good work guys

Stunning view with nice foods. Been there many times. It's my favorite bar so far. It gets really busy at night but the staffs are always helpful and friendly. It's rare to see nice staffs for such a busy place. Pretty cheap compare to all the pub and restaurants in circular quay area. Highly recommended!
18.12.2017 Rainer
Best thing about this place is the location, by far some of the best views of the Opera House and Circular Quay you'll find. Especially right on the waters edge.
Only thing that interrupts these views are the cruise ships that berth at the terminal above and behind the bar. There's generally a ship there most summer days.
Drinks aren't cheap but good and bar staff are super friendly and very helpful.
Remember your ID when going as the bouncers will most likely check.
