I think with a few tweaks the guest experience could certainly be improved. Arrived like most people after a long international flight. I was told my room was empty and ready, but it would be an additional $40 for me to check in early, despite it being clean and empty. An elevated experience would have been for the to let me check in early, rather than asking for more money as a first impression.

They also take a $100 deposit, fine, but I had to chase the to return it. After almost two weeks without it being returned I remembered, they sent it back very soon after my email - but what if I’d have forgotten.

The room was nice, the bed was very, very comfortable, as were the pillows. A small thing, but there’s no space in the bathroom to put anything next to the sink, just a bit of a bug bear as a woman with products.

Location wise, it’s really well positioned, it’s a lively area but I never felt unsafe as a female solo traveller.

Overall, it’s a decent place to stay, I think it’d be easy to upgrade the guest experience - helping people with their bags up the stairs, water in the rooms, being more proactive with returning the deposit, but overall it’s a good place to have as a base for a few days.

Room was small but comfortable. Location was great (near but not in red light district, lots to see!), near great inexpensive food and transportation (at Kings Cross metro). Great service!

The rooms are very old and dirty shower and toilet and was way too small trying to fit in the shower between the sink and the glass door is such a small space. The music from the night clubs was extremely loud of a weekend. The internet went down while we were there and we could not use the electric keys to open and doors in the hotel from our phones. Also we requested a number of times to have the sheets changed as there were visible stains on the sheets. Upon pulling the sheets back we noticed that there was blood 🩸 on the mattress protector where the stains come through to the sheets. We requested them to change to sheets. But there solution was to move us to a smaller room. The staff however at the front reception were lovely and helped where they could I can’t blame them. In all a great location near restaurant supermarkets and laundry with the bus and train station near by. All though they let us down with the quality of the rooms. Can’t say I will stay here again.

Overpriced. Room was infested with cockroaches. Air conditioning only worked in the living room. When we requested for the air conditioning to be repaired i was lied to repeatedly and told that the part was being ordered. I spoke to the air conditioning technician and no work order was never placed.

This business called us for our services, and then completed ghosted us after we sent our invoice. I have politely followed up multiple times for payment and have been promised a call back many times and never gotten it. They do not even answer their phone most of the time. If you would like to stay at a hotel that scams small businesses - choose Hotel Diplomat

I never leave reviews but really enjoyed my stay here; my boyfriend and I flew in from Brisbane really late and I also only booked that afternoon, they messaged and gave me access to the app, it was so easy to enter and nice and close to the train station. I loved the vibe and room layout, the colours and furniture they have chosen for the refurbishment feel really fun, elevated and cool. The staff are also really nice we checked out a little late and they didn’t mind, also kept our bags secured so we could explore until we fly home. I will definitely be coming back, it felt like home away from home but better. (My bf said come on, 4 stars cause the lift was so slow but it ended up just being funny racing it to the top)

The staff were very hospitable especially when I arrived and found out my extra night is organised hadn’t been applied. Location was perfect and would definitely be happy to stay again.

This was our first stay at the Bayswater Lodge! and we loved it! Great location with shops, buses and trains at the door. Compact, modern room, nice decor, friendly and helpful staff, everything was excellent. We especially loved the discounted car parking deal - parking in Sydney is a nightmare!! This was cheaper and better than our usual Sydney hotel - we'll be back to see you soon! xx

I stayed here in December 2022. I had a good pleasant stay. I'll rate it as 4 star hotel and I got value for all my money. Room was very clean and Wifi was brilliant. Also had a bar fridge and kettle. Staff were very friendly and allowed me to leave my bag after check out until 6 PM

Air Con worked brilliantly. Location was 10/10 for me. 2 minutes walk to King Cross station. Supermarket, Restaurants, Bars all close by. I loved it. As a solo female I felt very safe even at night. Yes its in street with club/bars and there is sometimes noise from venues but its King Cross and I booked knowing all that info, I was not phased

I chose the cheapest room. I already knew it would be small as it says so on their website so it was not a negative aspect for me, I was perfectly fine with it. People need to remember that the Hotel charges rates that are in line with its 3-4 star rating, they are very fair. I couldnt have afforded my Sydney trip if I had to pay more, I'm glad this hotel was reasonable for me.

Excellent food. Loved the Cheeseburger spring rolls and pretty much everything on the menu!
Dessert took a looooong time to be served...but otherwise excellent service!

Friendly staff, good introduction to the menu, very nice scallop raw plate, asparagus salad, Peking lamb shoulder and pork rib. Desert was outstanding too. Enjoyed the catch up and definitely love to come back again.

Busshari offers delicately handled, fresh sushi alongside tasty and authentic Japanese pub food. While dining in here just the other day my girlfriend and also I saw a very famous Australian actress-musician power couple who I won’t mention by name for their privacy.

Contaminated food and ridiculous prices!
I didn't have chance to take a photo to prove everyone about my bad experience. But i have to warn you to be careful when you eat here.
That was Tuesday night and it was quite busy.
I stand next to the kitchen and waited for toilet. (Apparently they are open kitchen and the toilet just next to it). There was a waiter, i saw him chuck the food in the bins but except the leafs, which are used for plating. I was wondering why they keep that in a container. And later on, I saw they clean the leafs and re-used again for hot dish and sushi plates.
Even Sashimi is not fresh and tastes plain. I try a lots of Japanese restaurant, trust me that if you really want to experience the good quality Japanese one, just pay a bit more for Hanajurin in Crow Nest, Sake in the Rock or Sokyo in The Star, you will fell worthy and never come back here. Pricey food and the bill ends up to $150 for 2 pax. Almost the same as last time i had in Sake restaurant.

Overrated. Came here for a birthday dinner and the sea urchin and sashimi was EXTREMELY not fresh, to the point we left the portion on the plate (and I spat mine back out). The staff and kitchen told us that that is how it tastes. Um. I don’t think so. Japanese and sashimi is my favourite cuisine and I’ve never had sashimi as bad as that, let alone a response that irresponsible. I will never come back here again. Ever.
