Holiday Inn SALZBURG CITY by IHG, Salzburg1 / 30
7.5
Salzburg, Sterneckstraße 21 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The room is nice and cozy, we can see new year fireworks from the window. Bed is clean and the room is tidy, if hotel can provide hot water will be great.
The staff member who handled check-in today was kind, polite, and attentive. She explained everything clearly and arranged a new room for me, is really better than previous 3nights I stayed.
Very nice hotel with large comfortable room, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Staff were super helpful when I accidentally left my laptop in my room when checking out. Also, much appreciated the gluten free bread for breakfast that was delicious and very safe (came in its own vacuum bag and I was given a pair of scissors so I could open the bag myself) — highly recommend for travellers with celiac
Convenient location Rooms are nice and big and well designed Quite good quality for this price
Easy to find and nice restaurant nearby . Room is clean and big also
The breakfast is simple but nice. You can keep your luggage here for free before you check in and after you check out. The only thing bad about here is that it is kind of far away from all the tourist attractions. Going to the old town takes at least 15-20 minutes walk.

Very good location for those who drives. There’s paid carpark in the hotel. Not near the central train station but near to the centre and old town area which cannot be driven in.
Good location. Near to a lot of attraction and bus station. Nice breakfast:
Walkable location to both station and old town. Luggage lockers and nice seating area with free tea & coffee.
Nice And cosy hotel at the edge of Salzburg old town. Location is great and it is easy to walk everywhere from there. Rooms are small but clean and with nice wood floors. Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is nothing spectacular but absolutely ok. Great value for money.
The location is great, only a short walk to the city centre. The rooms are fairly clean and the breakfast is nice.
Extremely close to the bus station, with a supermarket and shopping street right outside, which is super convenient. The drink bar was also great. The only downside was that the triple room had a bit of a renovation smell.

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The service was top-notch, with very attentive and welcoming staff. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location is a huge plus—convenient and within walking distance and next to salzburg train station easy to go to major attractions. Would definitely stay here again
The hotel is convenient to sightseeing points and restaurant as well as shopping mall Forum 1. In addition, the room spacious is more comfortable and good environment. It has a good view to city centre at high floor level. The receptionist had forgotten to give us the Salzburg mobility tickets. It was too little to provide coffee and tea bags as we stayed for two days. It was not clearly stated free...
Pros: 1. The front desk staff provided excellent service, patiently answering questions and giving specific directions as requested by guests. 2. Convenient transportation – there are bus stops for multiple routes right next to the hotel (Figure 1), and guests can ride for free with a voucher provided by the hotel (Figure 2). Cons: 1. There were at least two spots in the room where multiple hairs...
Everything is good but no microwave :( Close location to the central station
Very cozy, with stunning views of the snowy mountains from the high-floor windows. It's super convenient – just cross the road to reach the main train station and bus terminal. The tap water comes directly from the Alps and is safe to drink. The only downside is that no toiletries are provided, just hand soap, no shampoo or shower gel.
Everything is good. The hotel is located right next to the train station and bus station, best for traveler on either long or short journey. Good restaurants are nearby, McDonald at next door runs till 2am so no one could be starve. Vending machine is around and served 24 hours. For the hotel room, pillow is soft and nice, blanket are warm, good enough space for showcases. Bathroom is simple but...

The location was convenient for getting around. It's difficult to push a large suitcase from the central station, so I think it's better to take the bus. The receptionist was wearing what appears to be traditional clothing and was very cute. She greeted me with a smile. Thank you very much.
This hotel really rocks!! perfect location to walk into the all major tourist spots and breakfast was best ever I had in Austria and Germany, especially lady who was serving us for coffee was really kind and great in terms of taking care of customers! only disadvantage was the absence of inhouse parking but they provided the discount ticket so we paid only 26 euro per day (40 euro per day at Mirabel...
Excellent, especially the location; the only downside is the price.
Breakfast is delicious, the staff is friendly, Mirabell Garden is just a minute away, and there are trams and buses that stop in front of the accommodation, so it's great.

Very good location. Would've been nice to have a fitness studio.

Our stay at Schloss Leopoldskron was truly unforgettable. The setting is breathtaking, the history is fascinating, and the views over the lake are simply beautiful. Staying in a place with so much character and heritage made the experience feel very special. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff for arranging an extra bed for our kids. Your kindness and warm hospitality made our family feel...
We spent 3 nights at the Scloss Leopoldskron. We booked in advance and were lucky to have a room in the Palace. From the moment we arrived, we were treated wonderfully by all the staff. The views of the lake, the flowers blooming in the gardens, the outdoor seating, and the charm of the Schloss are top notch. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants, take a stroll around the lake and explore...
The house itself and the grounds are simply perfect. A highland of our trip. I booked a breakfast here for my daughter's 21st. We were so lucky to have seats on the terrace with a view of the mountains. The breakfast was expensive and you pay for.the.view. Worth it though. The staff were really lovely and nothing was too much effort but the food choice was minimal. Heard other guests say the same....
The overall hotel is full of character. The breakfast in the palace is quite an unique experience. That room is clean. I believe it doesn’t have any AC. But there are 2 fans which work very well for me. Also walkable to Hohen palace. Great location. Highly recommend for vacation or hiking.
Only a suite was available, so I booked it. It was a reasonable price, so I only stayed for one night. The room was quaint, with old furnishings and a great view of the garden. It was a shame that the hotel didn't have a restaurant where you could have dinner.
The room was quite far from the reception area. I wonder if it was intentional for Chinese people. When you check in, be sure to ask the front desk not to give you the farthest room!!! The room had no air conditioning and was very stuffy. There was only one air conditioner in the attic, but the shower had decent water pressure. The surroundings felt unprotected, and the lake was rather dirty. It wasn...

The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the room was spacious. However, the hotel is quite far from the city center and the main train station, with limited transportation options nearby. That said, the hotel provides free public transportation tickets, which helps offset the inconvenience.
The place was nice and comfortable. Great location, bus is right outside. The lady at the reception was super nice and kind.
A very clean and nice equipped hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended for those who travel to Salzburg.
Great location and decent room. Room is spacious for European standard. car parking is limited though.
Free parking is available, and the staff provided excellent service, even giving us two free city transit cards.
Everything was good except the location since it’s a bit far away from city centre. But there was a big supermarket just next the hotel.

Great service and helpful staff. We had a very spacious and quiet room, it has everything we need. The hotel is like old-luxury style located right at the center of the Salzburg old town. It’s very convenient from the airport, and to explore the old town. We really enjoyed the stay.
In the old city, right on the promenade, the rooms in the building next to the hotel are uncomfortable or bad.
The location is very convenient, with two entrances, one near the river for easy access to the bus stop, and the other leading to the main street. The room provides individually packaged toiletries, which is a nice touch!
This hotel stay was extremely unsatisfactory. We booked a superior room, but were given a room on the top floor with a pointed roof, resembling a loft. This was completely unacceptable. Absolutely stunning property with amazing views. The best and most catering staff I have ever experienced at a hotel. Easily joined the top 3 best hotels either my wife or I have ever experienced. Wish we had more time!
Amazing stay Spent two nights here while visiting Salzburg: this was one of the very best experiences we’ve had. From check in through the end of our stay, the service was impeccable. Rooms were great the bed was so comfortable! First full nights sleep since I started traveling! Amenities … free bus passes… we went to St Gilgen and St Wolfgang for free! Excellent! Oh and location is perfect. Could be better!
Great experience from the moment i checked in. Staff were very welcoming and explained the attractions surrounding the hotel. This mountaintop hotel has relatively small rooms, but the views and atmosphere are fantastic. It's perfect for self-drive travelers and is popular with foreigners. The cabins have a modern feel, a private vegetable garden, and a view overlooking Salzburg. The rooms are small, but the bathrooms are adequate. The main dinner was excellent and highly recommended.
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, with great views. The rooms are not big, and it is an old hotel with unique features, suitable for short-term stays.
Although the room is a bit old, it is warm and comfortable. Very quiet. I slept very well at night.
Driving out of busy Salzburg up into the hills above to the Gersberg Alm we were greeted by a beautiful chalet with flowers, trees, & pastures. They have a full restaurant so we had a light lunch. Very clean and nice location. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The location near Salzburg HBF was the best plus and the service was good! The team got us free transport tickets for one day without us asking and was able to bring us an electric kettle on our request! We have everything we needed for the room, bed, shower and toilet facilities are in very good condition! No problem during our one night stay at all!
The location is VERY convenient being right next to the train station so u can hv access to all the city transport. Staff are nice. However, the kitchen is crowded. It’s weird that the bed doesn’t come with socket and a lamp which is pretty inconvenient for those who are checking in late and trying not to wake the whole room with the light.
The hostel is closed to the train station and shopping mall. Our two beds room was upgraded to four bed room. The spacious was more comfortable and left our suitcase. It was taken a long time for check in and registration by QR code. The guest kitchen was too small to share the crowded customers at the peal time. It is important not to keep your luggage when you had checked out except by payment lockers
Good place for the price. Close to the train station, but an easy walk to the main tourist area. I liked that you can choose when they come clean … but it wasn’t the best clean 🙈 WiFi was also great until the last day when there was no WiFi at all.
This hotel is super convenient for the train station. They even give you a free public transport QR code after check-in. It's clean, hygienic, and I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're traveling solo!

The hotel's facilities are actually quite good, but unfortunately, the front desk staff were very discriminatory towards Asians. Lovely hotel within easy walking distance of the Hauptbahnhof. Also reasonable distance to many of the city's attractions but the new (in 2025) Public Transport Guest Mobility Ticket is great as it less than 100m from hotel to a bus stop to travel into the city for free. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well so we both slept very well.
The hotel staff is friendly and provides free city transportation passes for the dates of stay. The breakfast is rich. The rooms and shower rooms are slightly small, but they are newly decorated and fully equipped.
I love this hotel a lot. it’s a small family owned one but very neat and tidy, breakfast tastes so good and the staff are all very nice. it’s around just 5 minutes walk to central train station which makes it so much easier for us after long whole day trips. It definitely worth staying!
The rooms were comfortable. If you eat at the restaurant the food is excellent. It was well maintained and clean. The evening we were not in the restaurant, Pizza was within walking distance, and that was convenient.

The breakfast menu was good. The room was spacious & quite. There are no baggage service at this hotel, guests have to take their own luggage to the room, it is not easy as there are stairs on the way, specially for my because my husband blind & I carried two suitcases alone.
We were 12 days in Europe and stayed in 4 different hotels including the W in Budapest, which was gorgeous. This was by far my favorite! The location is far from the city center, but there are several bus stops outside, and the Flixbus South station is nearby. The room is large, apartment-like, with a kitchen and refrigerator, but no washing machine.
The room was new, clean, and spacious. The only downside was that it smelled quite strong, probably because it was recently renovated. However, across from the hotel, there's a large expanse of grass, forest, and distant mountains. It was a lovely environment, and I loved it. I saw many locals cycling and jogging there.
Very good place with great connectivity. The person at the reception was very helpful.
The hotel is in a good location, close to the cross-border bus station, about a 10-minute walk away. The room was clean, well-lit, the bathroom was spacious, and the shower was powerful enough. The only drawback was that there was no phone in the room.
