Great stay at the Maxx Phnom Penh Downtown for three nights. The hotel is excellently presented and the staff were very good and attentive. This is a hotel I would use again if visiting Phnom Penh.

I suspect the rating for this place might be inflated. It's on par with, or even slightly worse than, a typical budget hotel in China, which honestly surprised me quite a bit

It is quite remarkable just how loud an amplified bass frequemcy truly is while it's literally, physically shaking the entire space you occupy

The hotel was “okay” for the price is a little expensive since is a little old and the mall where it is located is empty there’s not many food options around but good thing is that the breakfast is super good

For a weekend stay it’s very nice but I wouldn’t recommend it for longer than 2-3 days at a time because the AC is kind of loud when it cools down the room

The main thing I look for is a decent swimming pool and it was there so we very much enjoyed our stay. We bought a mid range room (on floor 6 I believe). It's also at a good location close to restaurants in Phnom Penh

This would have been out of place at even a 2 star hotel. But to raise your voice to a customer and treat them that way, when they are going to sit down and wait for a room to be checked in not really acceptable

Rooms qere clean and maintained daily. 7th floor pool, spa and their lobby was clean and very well kept. The staff were all very nice and always ready to help if needed. The coffee shop in the lobby was a lifesaver

Door is hollow so you can hear other hotel guests running, talking and slamming doors very clearly. Gym was barebones but usable, pool was quite small

Having written many reviews for this hotel, there is not much more I can say as they continue to improve and maintain very high standards. My only complaints are that the pool closes far too early at 8pm

It is nice that they treat returning visitors as VIPs and are willing to factor this in when considering certain concessions. I had accidentally spilled my chocolate frappe on the sheets

I’m not saying they should always do this but it certainly impressed me that they considered all my visits and friends I’d encouraged to stay over. Besides this though they are still usually reasonable with such things

I hope the hotel could consider extending the time. Secondly, the 4th four does not have a designated smoking section so it can become quite thick with the smoke smell
