Hôtel Le Chablis in Montreal

This hotel cancelled my booking hours before check-in, no explanation, and they did not even provide a refund. Easily the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel.

The worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. Staff were unresponsive when I attempted to contact the property ahead of time to inform of a late check-in. I left an email and tried calling for 30 minutes straight. Only after leaving negative feedback on ******* did they mysteriously respond a minute later.

On my second night at around 1am I was awoken in a panic as staff unlocked my door and entered my room. Even giving the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake it begs the question what are they doing so late? The walls are thin and the noises from the hallway can be heard clear as day. So after being rudely awoken with the worst invasion of privacy I've ever experienced at a hotel, it was hard to get back to sleep with the staff running up and down the hallways talking on their radios.

This place is not cheap either, I spent over $200 a night for an experience I couldn't recommend even if it were free. The quality of the room was serviceable at best, and the hallways smelled of poorly masked cigarette smoke.

I would steer far clear.
