Reviews
However, I am very disappointed by a few things that I would not expect from a 5-star hotel. First, the TV entertainment options are extremely limited. There are no movies available to rent or purchase, which is unusual for a hotel of this level. Even more confusing, there are only two apps available on the TV: Netflix and YouTube. While Netflix would normally be fine, it actually does not work because the hotel has blocked it “for safety reasons,” as I was told by the front desk. This doesn’t make much sense—if the app is blocked, why have it available for guests to log into in the first place?
The biggest issue, though, is the jacuzzi on the highest floor. It seems to be closed almost every time I stay here. Out of the last four to six visits, it has been closed most of the time. From what I understand, it has been closed for over a year and a half for “maintenance,” which is unbelievable for a hotel of this standard. What’s even more frustrating is that the website still advertises the jacuzzi with a beautiful photo and does not mention anywhere that it has been closed for such a long time.
Overall, I still enjoy many aspects of this hotel, but these issues—especially the long-term closure of the jacuzzi and the confusing TV situation—are disappointing and should really be addressed, particularly for a hotel that markets itself as a 5-star experience.
I specifically chose this hotel because they advertised an outdoor hot tub, which was a huge draw for me. To my frustration, it was closed during our entire stay with zero notice. To make matters worse, the room itself was a mess—broken towel racks, unfinished trim, and exposed concrete. It was so bad we actually had to switch rooms mid-stay. They also market these rooms as having a kitchenette with a stovetop, but they provide zero cookware. What is the point of a kitchen if you can’t actually use it?
Then there’s the billing. They tried to charge me almost double for a mini-bar item ($99.95 instead of the $59.00 listed on their menu). When I brought it to management, they just blamed a "system error." It really feels like they’re just hoping people don't check their bills. The manager I spoke to was rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in fixing the mistake.
Safety is also clearly not a priority. I found a massive, jagged crack in the interior pane of the gym window with no safety film, no caution tape, and no warning signs. It’s a huge liability. Housekeeping was another disaster; we had to ask twice because they just never showed up to clean our room.
Lastly, I noticed they had banners up for the men’s hockey team but absolutely zero representation for the Montreal Victoire, who are also the hometown team. When I mentioned that they should show some support for the women’s team, the staff member just brushed me off and said "go Habs." It felt incredibly out of touch.
The only reason this place gets even one star is the location—it’s a 2-minute walk to the Bell Centre. But for $1,500, you’d expect way better than this. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually cares about their guests and property upkeep.
I have honestly never been more disappointed with the price I’ve paid for a hotel. It put a huge damper on the whole experience there.
We arrived so tired from a long haul flight, and our room + everything else was ready.
The welcoming was so warm and nice, from every single person working there, from the front desk team to the doorman, the valet parking, the pool guy, and of course the cleaning staff that always made sure our rooms where perfect.
Thank you for your hard work, it was noticed and appreciated.
Thank you so much to everyone for going above and beyond to make our stay dreamy, stress free, comfortable, and unforgettable, up to the standards of a 5 stars.
The little attentions made us so happy.
The place is also very discreet, we could met in the comfortable lobby with all my family without disturbing anyone or being bothered by anyone.
We are very much looking forward to come back. It felt like a real home away from home. Merci ! Next time we will bring chocolate for the team :)
Cheers from Switzerland !
However the hot tub was not working and looked like it been out of order for a while
They told me it broke last week and would be fixed by next week but based on others reviews I’m not sure that was truthful
The restaurant was a hard pass - they are over crowded and could not accommodate me as a hotel guest

Service was just as bad. It was a slow night (only 7 of us seated at the bar) when the Habs weren't playing, and I still couldn't get the bartender's attention. After giving up on the cheeseburger, I couldn't get her to bring me my bill until I got up and started to walk out - that finally got her attention. I wasn't waiting just a short time, either - I was holding my credit card and trying to get my bill the last 7 minutes of the Buffalo-Edmonton game.
I get that it's a Canadiens bar, and 20 years in California means my French is now terrible, but the staff should be able to find time to take care of everyone when it's that slow. And there's no excuse for the "quality" of food they were putting out tonight.
I flew in today, and am meeting up with friends tomorrow to go to the game. They asked me to find a place for the 6 of us to go beforehand. La Cage has far and away the best location for that, but there's still no way I'll ever be back.
