I have stayed here 1x a year for the last 5 years, the rooms are great, but I feel the washroom is starting to feel old and needs updating. This year there was no breakfast included with the hotel, unless adding an extra fee. Easier to go outside to eat.

Location is great on Shaiman Island, but it has become so popular and now so many Social media people taking pictures. 5-8 years ago, the island was more tranquil.

Cultural Park Metro and Huangsha Metro are close by. There is a Mall close by and the. Huangsha Aquatic Seafood Market is 5-7 min walk .

Facilities: The facilities are quite old; there are no smart curtains or toilets. The window in this room type is only a small half-pane (see picture), so the natural light isn't great. The lights on the TV wall are very dim, and I initially thought they were broken and wouldn't turn on. The soundproofing is really poor; I could clearly hear conversations from the next room. Traveling with a child, I was really worried about what might be happening next door 😧

Cleanliness: The cleanliness was really subpar. I won't even post pictures, but the showerhead was just... and the corners of the shower stall were, well... The carpet was quite dusty, and there was a strong musty smell in the room. If I wasn't traveling alone with a child and didn't want the hassle, I would have definitely changed hotels.

Environment: The lobby is quite distinctive, and the overall environment within the scenic area is certainly fine. However, the other building, completely dark, looked a bit eerie.

Service: I reported the soundproofing issue to the front desk. Although I didn't get a room change, they did take action and spoke to the neighbors, and it was quieter the second night. The breakfast staff didn't greet guests or offer any service. Aside from the gentleman who handled my complaint in the lobby, no one else smiled or greeted guests. When I arrived with my child and a large suitcase, the elderly man at the door just looked at me without offering any help. I think, since it carries the name of the White Swan Group, it should reflect a certain standard of White Swan service, shouldn't it?

Overall, I'm very satisfied. The location is excellent, right on Shamian Island, and there's a parking lot with unrestricted in-and-out access during your stay, which is very convenient. The hotel service is great; they're very responsive to all requests. The rooftop pool is a bit small and not a standard lap pool.

A historic hotel with excellent management and service. The overall environment is great. It's super convenient to take the subway to Chen Clan Academy, which is just a 400-meter walk away. I woke up early and walked three minutes to enjoy Qiaomei's dim sum, specifically waiting until 11 AM for their char siu.

The location is excellent, right on Shamian Island with beautiful surroundings. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is a historic building, and the Xiguan Yue restaurant on the second floor offers superb dim sum for breakfast and delicious dinner, all with attentive and warm service.

The entrance sign said 'White Swan Group,' so I expected the management to be top-notch. However, I was a bit disappointed. The room was full of cigarette smoke, and there were still ashes on the bedside table that hadn't been cleaned. The pillowcase was torn, and the stains on the gym floor were still there after a week.

Pros: This hotel has a wonderful sense of history and character, with a decor that beautifully blends old-world charm with modern touches. It was very clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bedding was excellent. The option to choose your pillow was a thoughtful touch. The bath towels were huge, big enough to wrap around your whole body. The bathroom was a wet/dry separation with excellent water pressure. I loved the full-wall vanity mirror. The room lighting was also very well-designed, ensuring that even with different schedules among multiple people, no one disturbed each other. The front desk downstairs was always helpful and responsive. The laundry room upstairs was an absolute surprise – incredibly well-equipped, even with shoe-washing facilities! Shamian Island itself is a very convenient location; you can leisurely walk to Yongqing Fang from here.
Cons: The only minor drawback was the lack of enough hooks in the quadruple room bathroom, nowhere to hang the bath towels. Also, the swimming pool was out of order due to disrepair.

Guangzhou Victory Hotel truly exceeded my expectations! Located on Shamian Island, this century-old European-style building is incredibly charming, and its retro interior design is detailed everywhere, making you feel like you're staying in a museum. The rooms are clean and comfortable with complete facilities. The service is warm and attentive, and the dim sum breakfast is authentic and delicious. It's a peaceful oasis in a bustling area, and my experience was perfect. Highly recommended!
