Environment: Our room had a small terrace with fish to admire, which was quite nice.
Amenities: This is a complaint I have, but I don't know if it's because the renovations have been going on for too long, but the sink lacks an outlet, making it difficult to blow-dry or style my hair. There's also no conditioner.
It took a 1.2-kilometer taxi ride to the Wen'er West Road gate of Xixi Wetland.
I booked a balcony room, which is on the first floor. It has a balcony, but it faces the road. The balcony door is soundproof, but there's some traffic noise. If you're a sleeper, I recommend choosing a room on a higher floor and avoid a balcony room.
The room was spacious, bright, and clean, but the soundproofing was poor. My neighbor watching TV or talking on the phone late at night was a real distraction. The breakfast was plentiful, with both Chinese and Western options, and the freshly cooked noodles were especially popular. The front desk lady, Ms. Liu, was very helpful and even offered to upgrade my room.
If you are going to Xixi Wetland, it is recommended to take a taxi to enter the north gate. I underestimated the size of the wetland. Of course, hikers can walk there.
