It's OK. This old five-star hotel is really nice and grand. However, there are too many hotels in Hangzhou and the competition is fierce. The room rates are not expensive. It's just about one kilometer away from the subway station. The breakfast is also good, buffet.

Location is perfect for those keen on watching the nightly Westlake Impression show - literally a stone's throw. Otherwise the view of Westlake (from our balcony) is obscured by trees.

Extremely good service and location

My daughter and I absolutely loved the stay at Mid-town Shangri-la. Fantastic facilities- everything worked perfectly, great view of the West Lake, and amazing staff. Mike Zhang at the concierge was particularly helpful and helped us carry the luggage to the underground station. We will definitely stay there again if we ever visit Hangzhou again.

I was highly impressed with its clean and comfortable room, we absolutely liked everything about this hotel. Their staff behaviour is also excellent, and I would love to visit again.

Service staff are all polite and attentive. We had a great stay with a good spread of food at the Club Lounge. Ambience is pleasant. Near to Wu Lin night market where there are a lot of interesting things and food.

The location is very central and walk distance to Xihu. Good facilities at hotel and fresh fruits provided at room. Staff at reception is lack of experiences, didn’t know how to apply hotel membership and no clear explanation about deposit and payment at check out.

Excellent staff. Nice hotel, but starting to show its age. There were places in my room and in the gym where there was water damage on the ceiling from outside. All together I would stay here again.

This hotel is at the Qiantang river in Hangzhou. Even so it is not at the West lake the location is very good. There is not a lot of traffic around the hotel and the metro station 'Civic Center', Line 4, is right next to the hotel. So it is quite convinient to get everywhere by metro or taxi. Okay, I've stayed at the hotel dozens of times. The location is not in the city center. Your best bet is to travel west for work or business with Alibaba. Travel is not recommended.

I returned for the third time. Location near the park is great for an evening stroll but a little remote to the city center. The size of the rooms is superb. Great value for the money. Large selection of foods available for the breakfast buffet. Will come back.

Rooms were clean, large and functional. Great amenities. Breakfast spread was good with lots of variety. Only inconvenience is the hotel concierge and lifts to hotel rooms are on the 27th floor instead of 1st level, so you have to take multiple elevators to get to your room. But there are plenty of lifts and waiting time is short.

We had a great time at the Senbo resort. Two adults with kids (8 and 9 years old). Very helpful staff and with a bit of help from translation apps everything went OK. Great selection in the buffet. Be aware that many of the water slides are only suitable for persons between 45-90 kg and over 150 cm, which meant that of our family of 4 only 1 (mum who doesn’t want to slide anyway) could access the slides...

SENBO Kaiyuan is our favourite place to visit in Hangzhou! We always have a lovely time - the rooms are clean and comfortable, the food delicious and there are so many things for my daughter to do. The staff are friendly and always happy to help.  We will continue to visit several times a year.

Amazing experience, very clean room, staff super friendly and a great weekend away experience. The room was immaculate with friendly helpers who cleaned up the room very well. SENBO is tucked away in a nature preserve. It’s very quite and beautiful. The food options were limited so if you don’t want to eat Chinese food you’ll need to leave the hotel and find something else to eat. The staff was very kind and spoke English well. We will definitely return!

Terrible experience. Was supposed to check in at 2pm, arrived at 2.30pm and was told our suite wasn't ready as suite guests are allowed to extend their stay till 4pm. Came with family of 8. Rooms and toilets are sufficiently big. Breakfast spread at JW Marriott was much better especially the gyoza. Courtyard Momo cafe so so though the fried rice was good. Hotel is rather new which is good. But when it comes to in room dining experience is complete crap. Hainanese Chicken has only few pieces of bones and tasteless fragrance rice. Worst ever. They delivered a meatless Carbonara to me tonight.

One of, if not the most renowned hotel surrounding the West Lake, the Xizi hotel did fulfil my expectations. Driver service around the area and  an access to a private area of the West Lake. Room was impeccable, with the cleaners and staff delivering a top-class service. Worth the price.
