Merchant Marco in Hangzhou

Booked two rooms, and both stays were very satisfying! We promptly extended our stay for another night. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were all incredibly friendly. They patiently answered all our questions about fun places to visit nearby. Thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up, thumbs up!!!!

I booked this hotel for our family vacation. It's been open for a while, but the decor is still quite nice, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The location is great, northeast of West Lake, and it's only a 6-7 minute walk to the lake.

The front desk staff were warm and professional. They even let us use a stroller for our child for free, which was a huge help for sightseeing.

The restaurant is on the second floor with a wide variety of dishes, and kids under 1.2 meters eat for free.

There's also a viewing platform on the rooftop with great views of West Lake.

Overall, it's a good hotel.

Stayed for a few days and was generally satisfied with the room. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to visit West Lake, and there's a direct bus to Lingyin Temple. If you're bored, you can browse the nearby mall. There are plenty of dining options in the area, perfect for both eating and sightseeing. I was very pleased with the service from the front desk, housekeeping, and even the security at the entrance; everyone was very warm and welcoming.

The hotel room was upgraded, well-equipped, and very tidy. It was spacious and bright with a sofa. The laundry room was excellent and had everything we needed. The hotel has parking, which is paid, but this is completely understandable given its prime location near West Lake. The front desk staff were very welcoming and empathetic, which I really appreciated. Overall, it provided the standard service and amenities expected of an older four-star hotel, and I was quite satisfied.

Traveling with my parents during the off-peak season, we booked a family suite for three. Since we arrived early and our reserved room type wasn't available, the staff upgraded us to the only Presidential Suite in the entire hotel! This really added a wonderful surprise to our trip and was a truly rare experience.

**Amenities:** The suite had three bathrooms, independent bedrooms with security locks, TVs in every room, smart toilets, and bathtubs – everything you could need. The soundproofing was excellent, and both bedrooms offered views of West Lake! On the 18th floor, there's a rooftop photo spot with information about West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the ambiance effectively blends cultural and natural elements.

**Environment:** The hotel's location is fantastic. The nearest subway station, Longxiangqiao, is also the closest to West Lake. Right next to the subway station is the incredibly popular Intime In77, bustling with people; it feels like you could spend days exploring it and still not see everything.

**Hygiene:** For such a large suite, the cleanliness was impressive. Perhaps it's also because fewer people stayed there.😜 The hotel's public areas were also well-maintained. Although the building shows some age, it's evident that it's been kept up very well.

**Breakfast:** It was only at breakfast that I realized how many people were staying here. Even with a large crowd, dining was quite orderly, food was replenished promptly, and the variety was quite good.

**Other:** The hotel features Marco Polo's story and decorations throughout, and there's a small themed exhibition on the first floor where you can take photos and pass the time. The room also had many elements related to this theme, such as a biography in the drawer, thoughtfully accompanied by a magnifying glass so older guests could also read it and enjoy a moment of quiet reflection. The suite also came with a small bear bearing the hotel's logo, allowing us to bring a piece of Marco Polo culture home.

I booked this hotel because it was ranked number one on Ctrip, and the previous reviews were all very good. After checking in, I found the front desk staff to be very proactive, and the room service I requested was prompt and thoughtful. The bed was not too soft, which was very comfortable. Additionally, the 18th-floor observation deck offered a great view of the lake. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of Western and Chinese options, and tasted delicious. Highly recommended!

We were very satisfied with the hotel, my child didn't want to leave, so we extended our stay. The room's amenities are very family-friendly for those traveling with children. It's close to the subway, making it very convenient for getting around with kids, and you can also hail a taxi right outside the entrance. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Hangzhou.
