Miss Sophie's Charles Bridge in Prague

Miss Sophie’s Charles Bridge was a very disappointing experience. On arrival, there was no one at the front desk. After waiting, a man we thought was another guest checked us in once his colleague arrived. He initially didn’t even greet us so the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming.

Breakfast on the first morning was bad: burnt croissants, very limited fresh fruit, no food labels, and when asking if the waffle/pancake machines could be used we were just told “no.”

There were no sockets near the bed, only in random places, and some were loose and felt unsafe. The cupboards had peeling wallpaper and there was dust throughout. When showering or filling the bath, the entire bathroom floor flooded even when using the shower curtain as instructed.

Wi-Fi did not work in the bedrooms at all and only worked in the hallway in the evenings. When this was reported to the front desk, we were told there had been no other complaints and that it was too late to have anyone check it and they would send someone the next day. Overall, the front desk came across as uninterested and unhelpful.

There were only local TV channels, the rest weren’t available. The fridge was not cold, so we didn’t store food in it. There was also a gap beside the bed (bed was built in so couldn’t be moved) filled with rubbish such as used tissues and lighters.

The only positive was the younger lady serving breakfast on Monday and Tuesday, who was lovely and provided a great breakfast.

No one at the front desk even asked how our stay was when checking out even though we spoke to two different staff members. Overall, it was a very cold and unwelcoming experience, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
